my thoughts: I’ve always kind of been intrigued by the idea of what the dynamic between Thatcher and Mycroft would be like -- which I’ve had plenty of time to think about considering the fact that she was born as a BBC!Sherlock OC -- and I think they’re alike in more ways than either would ever care to actually admit. Even in our absolutely amazing AU which I’m in love with. I like to think that even underneath the layers of disappointment and resentment they have for one another that they’re always been that basis of respect that holds them together. That they’re both that dedicated to keep the whole charade going and then even when he ends things, Mycroft could have quite literally ruined her but the fact that he cast himself as the villain in what the public sees as the end of the marriage. I just have a lot of feels about these two okay??
What makes me happy about them: When they get to be snarky at one another and just go back and forth because it amuses me and Thatcher likes being challenged, even if these conversations might end sometimes with her getting her feelings her. What also makes me happy is the fact that even though they both like to deny there’s anything real between them, they still do little small things for one another that contradict that (like the Starbucks and her grocery shopping habits).
What makes me sad about them: That because of how everything has played out, Thatcher will never know for sure how Mycroft actually felt about her. I’m not sure I even do XD but she’ll always assume that it was all a show for the cameras and that while she may have had feelings for him, they were never reciprocated. I don’t want to say never but right now it feels a lot like she will have even more trouble trusting him because of the fact that he’s proven to be such a good player in this little game of theirs that she won’t ever be sure if he’s playing with her or not.
things done in fanfic that annoys me: Uhhh? Let’s change this to things in their relationship that annoy me ‘cause that makes more sense: It annoys me when they fight because I can’t help but wonder how much of it is coming from just a need to feel something and anger is the only emotion they let themselves feel towards one another and if they would both stop being so damn stubborn they might not feel quite so trapped by each other.
things I look for in fanfic: What I look for in a plot: I really like putting them in situations where they test one another. Anytime they’re in public, that’s always interesting to me. And whenever Mycroft does something nice ‘cause that just means there’s a whirlwind of angst coming Thatcher’s way.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Whoever made them happy. It’s cliche but if they don’t somehow wind up together, I think they’re both adult enough to sincerely wish each other a happy ending.
My happily ever after for them: Oh goodness. I think maybe my happily ever after for them would have to involve Thatcher being able to move on, even if it was only temporarily and they get back together or something. In an ideal, romantic movie kind of ever after, I see them going through all the things to get divorced and having to do a lot of negotiating about financial stuff while they were married (not that either of them really care but the lawyers and agents do), and eventually coming to appreciate that they both made all kinds of sacrifices for the other and seeing the other in a new light. Literally just picture them about to sign the thing that will make their divorce final and neither of them can do it -- they’re awkwardly chuckling across the table at each other cause it should be the easiest thing to do but they’re both hesitating -- Thatcher kind of just sighs and signs it because if it’s what he wants and it’s what will make him happy then she’ll do it -- he’s about sign next but looks up and asks her if she wants to go get coffee ( the same thing they did on their first ‘date’ ) -- cue the romantic music ‘cause now that they’re not bound to one another they can see and truly appreciate each other and build a relationship the way it should be done and not based on a mutually beneficial contract. TA-DA. :D
who is the big spoon/little spoon: When they’re in public, it’s always Mycroft as the big spoon. Not that they cuddle in public ( often ) but that if they’re walking together, his arm is around her or she’s always right at his side, holding onto him. I kind of have it in my mind that at home it would be the opposite way, that should something happen and Mycroft get unusually emotional, Thatcher would big spoon him so fast. Of course, neither would ever mention it again.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Probably watching movies. Never each other’s, though. But they especially like watching terrible ones and shit-talking the entire way through about the crappy production, etc.

How I feel about this character: I think he’s a vastly underrated character and happens to be one of my favorites.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Canonically, I don’t really ship Mycroft with anyone. But I do selfishly ship Mycroft and Thatch and creeper-like ship Mycroft and Khan ( @72-reasons ).
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Mycroft and Sherlock, of course.
My unpopular opinion about this character: That he’s not secretly boning his assistant? I’m not sure.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish that we would get a chance to see more of what Mycroft’s day-to-day life is like. We only ever get glimpses when they’re relevant to Sherlock and the storyline, which is fine, I mean, the show is called Sherlock, but I’d still love to get more of an insight into Mycroft.
