you look at his hand, waiting for yours to take it on a handshake. you sigh, why not?
"yes-"
"... with benefits?" Jaehyun cuts you.
Jaehyun and you had some classes together last semester and that's why you accepted hanging out with him, but you never thought it would be a date, at least, it was not for you, and not until he started to confess to you.
"I'm kidding, kidding, I swear!" he puts his hands up, rendention, his eyes shining in a beautiful light alongside his smile.
you wish you could fall in love with him, though, you wish you could give him the same loving eyes he gives you everytime he looks at you, but you just had your heart broken and it just doesn't feel great to fall in love all over again.
you give him a little smile.
"thanks for tonight. it was great, and again, I'm so sorry"
"no, stop being sorry, it... just happens, I guess..." putting his hands inside his jeans pockets, he sighs, and you feel a little bad, but he is right. "now let's go, I'll give you a ride. a literal ride, no second meanings." he winks at you.
you can't stop the little laugh falling from your lips, "can we have ice cream?" you join him on the sidewalk.
someday, who knows, you can love him as much as he does love you.
