22/366: Slept until 4 PM bc finally got rest after hell week #1. LOL I'm afraid of hell week #2... It's okay just one left I can do this. I'm feeling a little better too so thank gawd. Crystal & Crystal came to visit me at my house today 💕 Hehe I love when a few friends come over and love me 😭 Crystal brought my watch hehe and it's absolutely perfect. Thank you bae, you just get me. Anyways, thought we were just gonna chill HAHA but they got lit at my house instead 😂 While I watched LOL. Took them to Afters before meeting up with the squad at Fountain Bowl for Cosmic Bowling ~ God damn I missed ice cream so much 😭 Crystal was giving me life cause she was on cloud 9 and loving da ice cream HAHA. Why can't I ever be on a good level like??? Bowling with squad was fun af, I didn't buy shoes but they let me take their turns and hahhahah I suck 😭 Came home around 3 ish and slept ~ 23/366: Woke up at a decent time HAHA noon 😅 And got ready for A1 practice ~ Twas nice dancing with everyone again at SSP ☺️ too bad the new parking rules are annoying like 45 minute parking wtf?! Watched the Revenant after practice near Fashion Island with Tegs and it was hella crowded so they put us in the section like right up in the front and I was like fuck 😭 But then we decided to sit in handicap and damn best seats in the house tbh LOL and reclining chairs ok and they gave me free popcorn like yoooooooo. Interesting movie... A little too much for me and a little too long but it was pretty good, very realistic. Leonardo DiCaprio is the one 😌 Got dinner at BCD and ugh it was so bomb with soup and everything 😍 And the server was great she kept refilling our side dishes and I kept eating potatoes LOL. Then just chilled at my house after and made a deal with the devil so I got lit and it was a very interesting experience :3 Everything was just really funny HAHA I was talking weird shit then I just ktfo LOL great sleep tho 👌🏼

I made DINNER!

Last night I was at my friends Jove's house having a small sesh. And we got hungry and we made enchiladas (: she made like quesadillas while I made cheese enchiladas with red sauce (: It was my first time making lunch and it was delicious !!! I'm so proud of myself.

tonight i was reunited with one of my work besties and it was glorious. i was in such a good mood all day because i knew he was going to be at job 2 and i basically ran into work to find him and give a giant hug. i haven’t seen him in a month and it was just so lovely. 

job 1 was interesting today. this move is taking a lot of time and energy. which makes sense obviously. one of my bosses should be retired in general but then he thinks he should make all of these huge decisions. like we were trying to decide how to organize the shelves for the lab/warehouse that is mostly mine and a couple other people’s responsibility and i stole one of my coworkers to come and look at what we were thinking. because it was just me and my one boss (the operations manager) working on it and like the warehouse is my other coworkers thing and he is mostly responsible for putting away equipment and it just made sense to get his opinion. next thing you know this ancient has no idea what’s going on anymore manager is telling us how to do and is bickering with the operations manager and was just being frustrating. so me and my coworker were just standing back and whispering about what we thought should happen. 

and guess what happened. we got the shelving to be spaced the way we wanted. because it made the most sense. it’s almost like we are the ones that handle that part of the job on a daily basis. idk. 

but today was good. i needed a good day.

I noticed you're really good at that. At making me feel bad. I never told you I was gonna be there. Your mistake was jumping into conclusions/assumptions. And then you blame me for them and make me feel bad. That's unfair. And not my fault.

Last week, I got called on in both of my classes. 

The first was my Torts II class. Like the 3L I am, I didn’t do the reading. So it went something like this: “Mr. Calabia, can you help us with the facts of the case?” “Can I pass?” “Sure.” I’m stood true to 3L stereotypes. 

The second event was in my Trusts and Wills class. This was right after my friend, who had taken his class last semester, told me that I definitely would not be called on so long as I did not make eye contact with the teacher. Like a good 3L, I didn’t make eye contact. So I was surprised when he called out, “Mr. Calabia.” I had been betrayed. Utterly betrayed. I raised my hand. “How are you today?” “Good, how are you?” “Great. So can you remind us who gets your property after you die?” Luckily I had taken good notes from last class. I was able to get through a long line of twenty-minute questioning about what we learned last class. I thought I was done. But then he stayed with me through further questioning on the interpretation of a three-page statute. Like I said, utterly betrayed.

This week I started my externship at the bankruptcy court. For the first time, I don’t think I felt the anxiety I usually feel when I start at a new place. I think part of this is that my friend is externing at the same place as I am. So I guess it’s not all new. In any case, I was supposed to get to work at 8:00 a.m. so I left my place an hour beforehand because I knew it was going to take around 45 minutes just to get there. 

I figured I would have enough space just in case anything happened. Turns out I was wrong. It took me closer to an hour just to get there so I ended up paying to park in the lot across the street. I had five minutes to spare. But then it hit me as I was walking across the street. I didn’t receive my badge yet so I had to go through security again--think airport security. The line was so long it took me about 30 minutes just to get through. I was not expecting such a long line. My friend actually arrived shortly after I did so she was behind me. It kind of made me feel slightly better about being late since I wouldn’t be the only one.

When I finally got through security my stomach wasn’t being too nice. I went up to the floor where my externship is and I ran straight to the bathroom. I couldn’t hold it. In any event, I finally entered and I was the last one there. I was greeted by the law clerk that interviewed me and was given two large stacks of paper that I had to read through. The law clerk was nice so I didn’t feel too bad. My friend who had worked here last semester said that it was a chill environment and he was right. He and the judge were very nice. So my mind was at ease.

Overall, my experience there has been pretty good. I’m still getting the hang of things. I still feel a little lost sometimes but with the support of the court law clerk and the other externs, I’m adapting quite nicely. This semester seems like it will be a good one!
