making more products is genuinely a bit difficult, not bc of the obvious labor involved but because of color schemes. obviously desktop dog has an unlimited amount of those, i tend to default to one for ease of getting my message across, but like.... wh.. what colors do people like..

like, what kinds of color schemes should i have as a main rotation?

the about page on the site has (finally) been updated!

while there will definitely be more updates and flair in the future, the basics are there... you can start to learn more about the three kinds of desktop dogs, and the avatars they become friends with!

which model is best for you? right now, you can learn the basics about the three different kinds of desktop dogs, as well as the avatars that they befriend, on the updated about page.

the home page has also been slightly updated, now with a little “featured products” section, and finally removing the (kinda ugly) update notes and such. woohoo!!

so, what’s next for the site?

while i do have a bunch of ideas for how i’d like to change the look of this digital space, for now i will share the more realistic updates to come.

i’d love to expand the about page more. i want to show off all the fun colors the different desktop doggies can come in, as well as how one could customize their avatar that travels alongside their digidog companions. i think a cool way to do this could be a gif cycling through different looks the avatars can have, all in the same base pose to keep things neat. maybe, at some point, a picrew or other kind of dress-up game to really add to the customization…… i think some kind of customization for the doggy models could be cool, too.

but that’s getting a bit too much into fantasy territory for now, i gotta work and stuff. :-P gotta find ways to encourage people to make their own desktop dogs and avatar friends in the meantime… part of me is hoping the colouring book i’m working on will be part of that!

hello!! welcome to the second (third?) post on this desktop dog blog..

first, some brief updates on other stuff: work on the zine and colouring book are underway!! the colouring book is nearing the end of the design phase. developments on the zine are ongoing, but it’s been feeling much more productive lately.

anyways… changes to the site!!!! finally!!!

well, “changes” is a bit generous. as this post goes up, the homepage graphic has been updated. i really hope you like the new illustration!! i know i do :D

but many updates are still being worked on and are on the way!! i won’t jinx every little thing i have planned, but i’ll share what’s upcoming ~ ! i’ll be redoing the 01 desktop dog and user avatar illustrations on the about page, as well as adding some illustrations and info on new friends that have shown up lately. the base designs will be posted first as i work on fun ways to display all the fun, different ways desktop dogs and their friends can look. will also be zhuzhing up the homepage beyond the new main art! i’m still learning about squarespace as i go, but i’d like there to be previews for the different pages on this site beyond the text wall and links ……

right now, i just want to focus on the site, the colouring book, and the zine. i don’t want to start a new project until i feel like at least one of these things are 90% there… the real goal would be to not start absolutely anything new until all of these things are done, but i need to be realistic about my current limits with self discipline (- x - “)

… but i can’t help myself!! every doodle and every day brings me that much closer to what i know this can all become.
