Wow! Its been a while since I've posted on here using my diary tag, but I have a lot happening so here I am lol!!
First off, chronic pain is a BITCH and I definitely am going to need to find a less strenuous job.
Good news is I might have found one!!!!! So there's this thing called a Peer Support Specialist. And multiple places around where I live have this position open for hiring! It's basically a job where you are required to have experience being in a psychiatric hospital or treatment program or residential or something like that. You use your own personal experience in recovery to help other people recovering from mental illness! The job is for people more stable in recovery, which I would consider myself to be! And a lot of times people will go on from this job into other types of psychology! Plus the pay is pretty decent. Only problem is if I want the job I need to get my license asap because it requires sometimes meeting the individual you're helping in their own home or another place, and I would need to be driving back and forth.
Good news about that is I'm getting my moms minivan when I get my license, and shes getting a new car! So ill have a car to drive for at least a couple years until it breaks down (its an old minivan and slowly having more problems with it)
Also, I'm torn between two options for schooling that would both be amazing for me! Either recreational therapy or just simply veterinary technician school! I'm not sure which would be higher pay tbh, probably recreational therapy (I would assume because you need an actual 4 year degree for that) but I don't know for sure so I'll probably look into that and see what the jobs out there would be like, what kind of pay, etc.
But yeah!! The future is bright, and I'm becoming more and more confident that I can do whatever the fuck I set my mind to!!!(:
