A map I'm not sure I'll ever finish. It's part of a Táng dynasty inspired fantasy epic, supposed to depict the layout of the capital city and its major sites, spread out over four DIN A4 pages (haven't even finished one so far). The grid-like rectangular layout is based on Cháng'ān, the Táng capital.

The novel only exists in my head and daydreams, though it's decently plotted out by now and, in a nutshell, would follow the journey of an ambitious foreign princess of lesser importance through her own family's kingdom's lost war, arranged hostage-marriage, her gradual forging of friendships, alliances and growing influence, factional tensions, civil strife (loosely inspired by the Ān Shǐ rebellion), and, ultimately, to the empire's throne.

I find the Táng dynasty to be one of the most fascinating periods of Chinese history, so wanting to create something that's based on it feels almost unavoidable.
