I saw a vitrectomy today and I can't get over how the patient's eye puffed up like a balloon when they put air in for the air fluid exchange. She must have had a leak somewhere because her entire eye bulged out of her eye socket. The tech even said something like "ophthalmic surgery is not for those with weak stomachs." Oh my god-- I wish I could find a picture of something similar online because it was pretty crazy/cool.
