i have my fair share of issues with the overall portrayal of morgana, including the characterisation of her power and strength, but i do have to say that sometimes? sometimes, they did it right. i rewatched the season 4 finale today, and although morgana has had a run-in with emrys, and we've seen her be afraid of him before, this one really struck me. i'm not rewatching alone, so i get a bit of a different perspective from someone else, and they pointed out to me, half-jokingly, how ridiculous they think her fear is. again, i often wished for her to appear more powerful and all, but here i did actually agree with the scene progression because she reminded me of a kid - a scared kid. 

morgana has been through a lot, and there's much of her journey we didn't get to see, but she's still, as many of the others are too, just a person, a young one at that, a terrified one. do i think the scene would've been more impactful if her overall portrayal was stronger? and even beyond that - do i think there could've been slight changes to the scene itself, to make it better? absolutely, there's no doubt about it, but at the end of the day, i think it was a nice moment, a good reminder, even if it wasn't quite necessary in the context they built.
