I get in trouble every time I post salade niçoise because there are so many *experts* who follow me including quite a few from Nice. Bridge Street Cafe in #cambria east-village does a fabulous one. Seared haricot verts, capers and GREAT canned tuna (DON'T PUT AHI ON MY FUCKING NIÇOISE), plenty of boiled eggs, black olives to make finger puppets with--but kalamata's too, artichoke hearts, raw onions and cucumbers. Hey, it's kinda all over the place. No tomatoes. But oh so good. Nice low-acid oily dressing. Just like everything I've had at Bridge Street. Stuff on the menu *appeard* to have a pretty normal name and you take a chance on it and BAM! it comes out and it so blows your expectations. Dude somehow crams SOOOO much extra into his dishes.
