Song of the Day
Today is the last day for this month’s protest music theme. I think I’ll share a song that protests gentrification. I’ve noticed a lot of this ongoing problem happening a lot around my hood. The problem with gentrification is that these outside investors build fancy sky-high flats that raise rent around the neighboring structures. Also, it invites big corporations to install their businesses in these low-income neighborhoods && it obliterates the mom && pop joints. Currently, parts of unincorporated Los Angeles is getting gentrified && the people have taken to the streets. I read an article about an upcoming rapper, Lawrence ‘Lench’ Martinez, rapping about his city: Austin. Enjoy!
