Fall 2015
College: Skyline Community College
If you saw my school schedule, you would know that my first class starts at 9:35am. Therefore, I would need to wake up extra early to catch an early bus. The bus ride from where I live to the school takes roughly an hour. It’s also the only bus that I could take. There isn’t any other way.
I woke up around 6am, thanks to Angelo. He called me which what made me bolt out of bed. I got ready and the clock read “7:20am”. My bus was scheduled to be out by 7:24am. As usual, it doesn’t come exactly as scheduled. I got a good seat by the window and buried myself in music. I watched more and more students hopping in from each stop. And what I thought was kind of funny was the fact that EVERY STUDENT had their earphones on. I guess they needed to block out the fact that we were on our way to school.. especially at this hour.
We got there around 8:30am. Yes, that meant that I was an hour early for class. BUT WHO CARES?? That only meant for some class searching and library chillin’. After chillin’, I headed to my first class. There was some miscommunication with the two professors. They were booked in the same room so we had to move to a temp room. But our professor assured us that by Thursday we should be back to our scheduled room.
My professor happened to be my counselor! (Which I thought was great cause he’s a great person) After reviewing the syllabus, we were put into groups and given a sheet of paper with instructions. My group was in charge of coming up with a cereal and trying to persuade people to buy it. As always, the group wasn’t so responsive. So I kind of took charge?? I don’t know. But slowly but surely, everyone started pitching in their ideas. After presenting, the class ended. As I walked out, I asked a groupmate (Andrew) about the books required for the course because he already purchased his. He told me and asked to exchange phone numbers in case one of us misses a class. (which was great for me, that way i wont have to worry) He was kind enough to walk me to my class then we departed ways.
My next class was English. I actually really enjoy the professor! He gave out a familiar aura which made it easier for me to feel comfortable. We reviewed the syllabus then had a little activity called “Academic Speed Dating”. We answered questions to someone under two minutes then switched when the time goes off. To summarize, I talked about my move here, having to drive around without any knowledge of the road, and my favorite song. It was fun!
Unfortunately, right after my English class, I needed to rush to my next class which only gave me ten minutes of walking time… Also, the next class is on the other side of the campus. I manage to make it but was forced to sit in the front. This class was my Public Speaking course. I LOVED THE TEACHER! She just assured me that I wanted to be able to speak like her! I don’t know if that makes sense… But she’s just great! She gave out lame puns and wasn’t awkward at all. She placed us in pairs so we would ask each other questions about ourselves. My partner was cool. She was into arts & crafts, backing, and reading!
After that class, Michaela and I went to the bookstore to hopefully find our textbooks. (Michaela is my co-worker) I was able to find one out of the four.. As we left the bookstore, I realized that my bus was already at the bus stop. If I missed that, I would have to wait another 40minutes for the next one! I ran. There weren’t any seats left so I stood up for a good 30 minutes then when it was finally somewhat clear, I found a seat.
I got home and went straight to the kitchen. Something that I forgot to do was to bring food.. I ate whatever was there and waited until 4:30 because last class started at 5:30. Thankfully I’m able to drive since my dad is home. I left but still had 30 minutes until class started so I did more exploring. I got lost for a bit but eventually found my way. I went to class early because I didn’t know what else to do but there were people in the class already.
I don’t know if it’s the teacher, the subject, or the fact that I fell asleep at 3am but I was ready to KO. I was really glad he made us leave 20 minutes early because he already started the lesson and I didn’t know how long I was able to stay awake.
The End! <3
There's no one for me to talk to anymore. I am so fucking lost and I know how to fix it, I know I need to go back to church and I need to open back up and it is so damn simple to type out or to say to someone so why is so hard to do it..
