SOHN - Exit07 (Luxembourg) - 09.04.2014
Listening to Tremors on repeat the morning after the gig – probably the best proof of how much I enjoyed it ☺
With a meeting at my daughters’ school shortly before, the evening could have been stressful, but luckily it turned out once more that arriving at the Exit07 shortly before the doors open is sufficient to get an excellent spot inside. The venue hadn’t sold out, but was well filled and what is more, the audience was into the show from the very first moment on.
After a support slot by the Luxembourgish music producer Napoleon Gold, SOHN came on stage at around a quarter past ten, starting his set with Ransom Notes. As usual, I cannot remember the order of the other songs and there was no physical setlist to get a hold onto – modern times, I guess! Despite the album only having been released the same week, a lot of people seemed to know the songs (not only the older ones) rather well. But then again, as SOHN informed us during the gig, Tremors is no. 1 in the Luxembourgish iTunes charts, so it’s probably not surprising ;)
However, I had ONE problem during the entire gig: listen to the fan inside me and get lost in the music or to the photographer and take loads of pics of the amazing lightshow? Not easy to strike a balance!
As it wasn’t a long wait, I had put off purchasing the album till after the gig which also offered the advantage of getting it signed by SOHN and his two fellow musicians. Nice to be told they had enjoyed the show just as much as the audience ☺
SOHN’s European tour continues till April 23rd, followed by a North American tour in May – catch him if you get the chance!
TBTB (Throwback Thursday Books) - John Knowles' A Separate Peace
Today’s #tbtb is the first of its kind in this feature. John Knowles’ A Separate Peace isn’t one of my favorite reads. It was a book we read as high school sophomores. One of my favorite films, Dead Poet’s Society, was included for this unit. Overall, I didn’t enjoy this book.
The reason Knowles’ tale of boarding school boys has landed on my #tbtb is that the freshman in the community where I…

Omg, okay. Listen to Ever After, their last album. The ending of one track will smoothly go into the beginning of the next track. It's cool. *-* If you don't want to listen to the whole album though, listen to "Ever After," the first track. It's kind of a like an intro, with bits of most of the songs in the album. Individual songs: "Truth or Dare", "By Now", "Fallout", "Stutter", and "No Place Like Home" (which is also a combination song, but an outro). AND "GOOD TO YOU," OMG. ✿
