fraser minten's post-game interview 09.09.25, transcript under the cut
[Transcript: Boston Bruins forward Fraser Minten's post-game interview in the Bruins' locker room following his game-winning overtime goal. He is surrounded by a couple of reporters (denoted by R). Takes place following the Bruins' home opener against the Chicago Blackhawks.
R: Has NHL pace with meaningful games been an adjustment or what?
FM: Um, yeah, obviously different than the AHL, but, um, nice to come in, and, and play in it right away, um, out of camp like that, and, feel like I've been doing it for a few months now, so, um, used to it.
R: What have skating guys like Tanner and Mikey done for your game so far this year?
FM: Yeah, it's great. They're uh, pesky, reliable, hardworking. They don't really, you know, make too many errors out there, so, easy to play with.
R: When you got the puck out of the corner, were you thinking of taking it all the way?
FM: Yeah, I, uh, assumed they'd be in a little deep, so just get some steps and then uh, there's always room in OT to, to shoot and make plays like that.
R: How important was it to, to get some scoring up and down the lineup tonight? You know, last night it was, it was the big guys who, you know, did all the, all the work there.
FM: Yeah, I think uh, you know, obviously they get paid the big bucks to do that, but all of us want to help in that area, too. And I think Tanner's goal is a great example of how we can do that. Just getting pucks back in the ozone, getting to the net, and just crashing in the paint, um, no reason why every line can't contribute in that way. And, uh, that's the way we want to do it.
(Jumpcut)
R: You took a couple of hits in the same shift in uh second period...
FM: Third.
R: Third period. (Minten smiles and nods)
R: And, uh, Be-Bedard was the first one, (Minten smiles) kinda got you off balance. Second one, what happened there? 'Cause that was a hard one, that was a thud.
FM: Uh, yeah, he hit me and I fell over.
R: You only get one chance at, like, early first impressions, things like that to, to do this in a home, home opener for this season. Just what do you think that can do for the team and appreciating yourself?
FM: Yeah, it's good. We, uh, we wanted to start out strong and, uh, two wins like that and a good one, an exciting one at home, I think is, uh, is great.
