“Wait, I don’t want it to end yet”
Nate crossed his arms, looking out at the crowd, the somber expression he wore covering the turbulent thoughts racing through his mind. This was a mess of epic proportions if he'd ever seen one. Dead children did not make for happy parents--or ones particularly loyal to the cause. Especially when the death happened during something so stupid--testing them, really? But he had a part to play, as did they all, and he really ought to get on with it. He shook his head as he handed his handkerchief to a sniffling girl next to him, resisting the urge to roll his eyes (had she even known the Zabini boy?), “A tragedy, all things considered--he was just a kid, after all.” He spoke to the group around him at large, his voice low and mournful.
Rowan had wandered off, close to the forest, the tension in the air almost unbearable. It was clear that some of the students were there fairly unwillingly, and it didn't really make for an appropriately mournful atmosphere--just an awkward one. And it was sad, because Leonidas was--he was her age. And they were just kids and well... as much as she'd felt the guilt twisting in her gut as her classmates got questioned and she was left (for the most part) alone, a small, selfish part of her couldn't help but he glad for the neutral stance her uncle had insisted they take--that memorial could've been for anyone, Death Eater or not. She mulled over this, how unfair it was to throw a bunch of kids into war, as she neared the edge of the forest. She didn't have plans to go for a late night stroll through the forest--she wasn't stupid, after all--but some of the trees were beautiful at night, when the faeries living amongst the branches lit them up. She was snapped from her thoughts as she heard someone approaching. "Hello?" She said, raising her wand, the tip lighting up with a quick flick of her wrist.
