i honestly dont know where this ended up going lmao but hey lookie here i finally managed to write a thing~~ enjoy~~

When Taemin returned home he had expected the living room light to be on – at least – and the TV playing a sport game or sitcom of some sort. But instead the apartment was flooded in darkness, an eerie kind of wailing meeting his ears, the air thick as if filled with gas. He'd felt it before, many times before. He quickly pushed his nose and mouth mask back up to his face, having used it that day as the weather was growing chilly especially so late at night. Worry filled his entire being knowing it would be difficult to find his boyfriend in the blackness that would never be penetrated with any light globe.“Minho?” He asked, closing the door behind him to stop it from spreading outside the apartment. “Are you in here?”

“Yeah…”Taemin sighed. He’d transcended into that state again where he would slide into a non-existent state where he became the dark and soulless world he summoned when he was depressed. It had only happened one or two times and that had been so long ago now Taemin wasn’t sure what he could do to bring Minho back this time “Baby… what’s going on?” He asked, knowing he had to be careful of what he said and how he said it. After everything that had happened to his boyfriend in his short life, he couldn’t blame him. “Did something upset you?”“I was just… thinking… you know…” Minho said.“Thinking about what, baby?” Taemin asked. “Maybe… maybe you can come back here and we can sit on the couch together and talk about it? Do you want to do that?” There was a soft sound of indifference from Minho as he spoke again. “No… I think I’m okay where I am… don’t you think it’s better if I stay like this? I mean, do you ever wonder if the world would be better off without you?”“No, Minho.” Taemin stated firmly. “I don’t think you’re better letting this world take you away. Not only for my sake, but… but because the world needs more people like you.”Minho scoffed. “I mean it.” Taemin insisted. “Minho, baby, you’re the kindest person I’ve ever met. Remember we met because you found my dog on the street and I literally ran into you. Do you remember, Minho?”For a very long moment Taemin’s words were met with nothing but silence, before there was a hand at his waist and chin on his shoulder – not physically, but an essence of sorts from behind him. “You were so cute then… just a kid.”Taemin almost let out a sigh of relief, feeling Minho returning from his dark world. “I’m only a few years younger than you.” He reminded him teasingly.“Yes… but still so cute.”The darkness suddenly lifted as Minho’s real and full weight leaned against Taemin’s back. He easily held him up, fingers reaching for Minho’s where they moved to his hips, turning his head to press his cheek against Minho’s. “I’ll let you win that one.” Taemin muttered, loving how he felt Minho chuckle just slightly. “But only because I love you so much.”Minho was silent for a moment, slipping his arms properly around Taemin. “Were you scared?” He asked.“For you, yes.”“I’m sorry.” Minho muttered, voice tearful as he clung to Taemin for dear life. “I tried to control my powers I really did. I’m sorry, Taemin. I’m sorry.”Taemin hushed Minho softly, rocking back and forth. It was probably right for Minho to apologise, many others would expect him to, but not Taemin. He knew Minho would never intend anyone any harm, it was why he would rather regress into the darkness. More than that, it was clear that Minho was scared of the power residing in him. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a whole lot Taemin could do about that because he was too.

Yes same here! Looking back, it feels like summer didn't even exist. I was already saying that I can't wait for the next summer vacation on the first week of school haha

Isn't this your last year though? That's how I remember, sorry if I'm mistaken ;;
