Do you know if there were any trans men in Ancient Greece?? I’ve seen a lot on trans women but not so much on trans men.... thanks!

Funny enough, trans men are harder to find sources on in Greece cause, well, they were men. Rome was REALLY transmisogynistic and persecuted trans women, but men, that was a different story. Trans men it seems were more or less accepted. There is some evidence that Achilles and Hercules may have been trans, or represented as trans in some way. That’s a little fuzzy though. Achilles is more likely to be trans, given that he is a 27 year old warrior that’s beardless. It ALSO could be referring to him being a bottom.

A cult believed Orpheus was trans, that’s a bit of a weird belief too. Similar for Narcissus, Adonis, and a few other heroes. They also could have been bottoms or intersex. It’s really unclear sometimes

The greeks thought that twins couldn’t have been born of different sexes, so either Apollon or Artemis is likely trans, but that’s more likely Artemis as a trans lady, for a lot of reasons.

There was a character Kaineus (Caeneus) who was a trans man, but he’s a bit disputed. He was invulnerable, and had a few fragments here and there, but when Rome took Greece’s mythology they had Centaurs drive him into the earth with stones to strike down some of the pro trans sentiment of Greece.

There’s some evidence of Dionysus being a trans man, but there’s also suggestions towards what we would call nonbinary. Again, a lot of this is unclear. Dionysus DEFINITELY has something to do with trans people.

And I KNOW of a myth of a guy who asked a god to transition bt I cannot remember him right now.

This is a LOT HARDER to find because of the way the greeks wrote about trans men. They just.....accepted them as men. “Beardless” could mean trans man, or bottom, or artist, so so many figures could be trans, but also couldn’t. The greeks didn’t want to out trans men. They were cool like that I guess

It’s fairly amusing because the book keeps mentioning how handsome teenage!Voldemort is like once isn’t enough to make sure the readers know, it has to be repeated multiple times, that’s how hot Voldemort was apparently lmao. I wouldn’t go as far as saying he had a crush on Voldemort tho. But it’s funny how he keeps noticing how handsome he was.

And let’s not forget about Cedric 👀 Harry thought he was pretty handsome as well and he even liked him as a person but his emotions were such a mess because Cedric dated Harry’s other crush so he was a ball of angry jealousy lmao
