Anthony is helping Michael with the Young Sweethearts' new kitchen because Kenneth is a Pride organizer and emcee, so he doesn't have a lot of free time right now.

A full "fancy" kitchen had been in the back of my mind since at least 2013, but every time I priced one, I decided it wasn't a priority. This week, dd's Discounts had a kitchen for only $25, and it just clicked.

Bella's Playworld is one of those fake brands. The set is made by Auxo International, which makes white-label toys for many retailers. Bella herself is has a light-weight plastic body. Her head is a great color match for my AliExpress pregnant body, but I'm not in the mood to add a new doll to the community, so all that's in the Body Farm for the nonce.

Let's put full detail on the kitchen after the jump, since there's a lot.

The refrigerator has an ice maker in a plausible spot! Obvs, I removed that askew sticker immediately. I'm considering whether I have the dexterity to mask off the ice maker and spray paint it silver.

All of the interior art is printed directly onto cardboard backings. I discovered later that if the cardboard is bent ever so slightly, it can be slid out of its slots. This opens the possibility of replacing it with plain white cardboard... or printing something I like better.

The trays slide out only if the cardboard backing is removed, and they are not adjustable.

The dishwasher unit demonstrates the classic problem with these kitchen sets: while the overall height is on-scale, the counter tops end up much lower than they should be. I have decided to roll with this. If it bugs me in the long run, I can take some cardboard scraps and put a 2" base under everything.

That "Microwaves" text is molded on, and I'm going to hide it somehow.

Accessories that come with this are pretty cute, including the pink toaster. We also have to respect the cook's daring in cooking a whole turkey in the microwave. Every microwave cookbook of the early 1980s touted this, and it was a terrible idea.

While i like the microwave control sticker, the dishwasher one was on crooked and shows a different time than the oven sticker, so I've removed it. There is an appointment with a bottle of Goo Gone in my future.

The stove top is pleasingly detailed. Those clear "burners" light up red when one of the pink buttons is pushed. Eventually, I will put a gas-burner style thingie over them so that pots are more stable. I also quickly removed the control sticker because it's annoying; I will replace it with one I like better.

Weird perspective on the cupboard and oven back images make the case for replacing them.

The double sink figures in why I like this set so much. That off-scale sticker has to go, of course -- it's soaking at this very moment. It's easy to get the utensil rack off the wall, which will simplify installing a backsplash. Those utensils are positively getting painted!

The accessories loaded into the china cabinet aren't bad at all. I'm definitely replacing the china cabinet background, as I want to display dishes in the cabinet that has "glass" doors.

This kitchen has to be a double corridor (two units facing two units) rather than the single-wall kitchen I had before. So the shelving I created for the old kitchen will get reconfigured to work in the living room.

Overall, I'm really pleased with this kitchen! It has a lot of storage space for accessories (which the old Dollar Tree kitchen lacked), a double sink, and all the modern amenities. The work needed to get it exactly as I want it is pretty easy and fun.

Does anyone remember someone who had a 1/6th scale photocopier? I remember seeing it on Flickr once, and then never again. I feel like I've tried every possible combination of phrases to try to find it again.

It was this perfectly scaled down plastic photocopier. It was made by some Japanese brand, I think, similar to Re-Ment or Orcara but not actually made by either of those specific brands.
