He’s back-tracking for his father’s stone when he sees her. Children roaming around streets that looked like this-- Donny flashes back to the kids younger than him when he’d left the village, and just how much of a danger even wandering about outdoors had been for them there around their home prior to the Shepherds coming in and cleaning out the bandit-kind. And if what that fancy lab coat fellow said is to be considered… then any little tykes should be well within their keeps at this hour!
“Hey, there, little lass-- you lookin’ fer someone? Can’t be too responsible if they’ve let ya come out this far. Or maybe ye’ve wandered off too far from home? I ain’t no expert navigator, but I’m willin’ ta bet a week’s worth o’ feed that I can help ya get back to where ya need ta be! What d’ya say?”
