“Efi!” Athena pops up from behind a snow drift, perfectly formed snowball in her hands, ready and waiting. She sights the little girl and inhales, then throws the snowball halfway through her exhale, like she’s sniping.
The snowball hits its target - but so does Efi’s. When did she even throw that, anyway!? Athena laughs, though, in genuine good humor. “Wow! Good aim, Efi!”

she’d heard many statements like that over the years, but it really wasn’t until people would say “what, can’t you take a compliment?” that she realized that’s what they were-- compliments. they were compliments and she was expected to feel something akin to happiness when she heard them.
so, Mira had learned to wear that half-smile of hers when she heard them.
“That’s sweet of you.” she paused, thinking on what else was appropriate to say. “You look very pretty, too.”

Karamatsu had only gotten the chance to meet the girl every now and then. By no means were they close - but he knew that she was a child. That the live broadcast of an execution would’ve probably been enough to frighten her, and he couldn’t dare stand to see the sight of her shedding plenty of tears.
He made his way over to her as quickly as he could, crouching down to her height. He crouched in a position that would be comfy for his legs, and he pulled her into a hug.
He was aware they were nowhere near close to him being able to just...hug her, but it was better than nothing.

That’s pretty much all he can say. Apollo’s pretty sure his brain short-circuited when he came across this tiny girl, lugging a fridge behind her to what looks like a concert venue. His brow is furrowed in disbelief. (What does she even have in there…?) “Can’t you just take it in there? Is it not allowed?”
He’s almost afraid it’s illegal contraband.
But despite that, a mere few minutes later he finds himself waiting for her signal as she talks to the security guard. A flick of her head will tell him that he needs to carry the fridge past while the guard’s distracted. (How did this happen?)
