Last night we went out for dinner at our usual. As I’m sitting in the booth I start hearing music. It sounds like a song ringtone. I’m thinking someone dropped their phone between the wall and the booth seat. I’m reaching and reaching with no luck, but I can still hear it. I called over a server and told her to listen. She starts pulling the booth trying to find it. Suddenly, I recognize the music and say “Ooh it’s the Ramones” thinking a fellow fan. Now our booth and the booth behind us are standing and looking for the source of the sound. The woman behind me says, “I think it’s your watch.”
Yeah it was the Ramones and it was from me. Immediately my face went red and I was so embarrassed. I then realized the whole restaurant stopped and was watching this play out.

Sitting here watching TMNT and...
In every version, people always joke and say, "How can the turtles afford pizza?" The answer is right there. Their lair is full of junk, right?
They scavenge. They can sell junk for cash or collect money from the subways.
My headcanon? They recycle. People often collect bottles out of the trash and get the deposit. Even when I worked for a ritzy company in manhattan, there was a guy above me who came around and took the bottles from our trash to get the change.
So I'd like to think that the turtles are slowly cleaning up the city by collecting the cans and bottles and swapping them for change, taking that change to the converter machines in supermarkets, and getting cash.
Maybe they guard the little old ladies that collect bottles in the mornings. Maybe they help tourists with their bags. Maybe they mingle with the mascots in times square and let tourists take pictures for a buck.
I don't know. I feel like Turtles do little things like that.
“Who are you??”
*chuckles* “I’m you but sharper”
