What's Seam like in this AU? Loving this take by the way it's awesome :)
HELLO finally getting the time to answer this!!!
the main difference is that seam's knowledge didn't make them go insane and start killing people, so they weren't locked away; jevil speaks in the present tense when referring to them and suggests that they still see each other. and i think they would! i often imagine that jevil visits seam to play games, and for all of seam's self-isolation, they'd never pass up a game with him. (and they're always visited by people who Want to Know what they know—jevil, and a few others. they never give an answer)
unfortunately for them though, where jevil sought to spread what he learned with everyone and was disbelieved by most, seam is determined to keep it a secret. i imagine their change happening gradually, slowly become more withdrawn and when other darkners (jevil) started noticing that something had changed to dampen their mood is when they more so began to isolate. everyone knows they learned something. the queen won't stop until she finds out what it was. why are they so unwilling to tell anyone? well, in jevil's case, they know him very well, and that freeing him of any inhibitons like that would not end happily for anyone involved. as for everyone else...perhaps they want to save them from the hopelessness they feel? or, maybe, it could be their way of trying to change things—or just to observe, to see how true it really all is if they do nothing.
they're a hermit pretty much just like in canon, only they stay in the castle to try and avoid people as much as possible (aside from the few that insist on talking to them) instead of their shop—which is why jevil now watches over it and their lantern. honestly i don't really know if i'd say that they're more or less depressed than canon! because here they've gotten the Knowledge™ directly, but at the same time some of it seems contradictory and also they still get to play with jevil...maybe it's not more or less, just a different Kind of feeling.
