#1000 cranes

I've been making a number of cards for personal use, with no intention of posting them. I don't fully know why this is the one I chose to share, however it is. Built off of the Japaneses myth of creating 1000 paper cranes granting a wish, this enchantment creates an alt win condition off of spending all your mana in creating paper cranes.

The paper cranes were intentionally designed to be as useless as possible, effectively acting as counters that interact with bird and creature spells. While I'm sure there are spells that interact with birds or creature amount, I enjoy the natural counter play of being able to use damage and mass creature removal to remove progress towards the goal.

Art is by Angle Manila on Art Station, he doesn't have a lot posted to that account, but what is there is pretty neat.

Finished my most recent 1000 crane Idea. Really like how it came out with the simple and limited colours. May have to revisit the lighting setup as it isn't quite what I was going for but that is a future problem.

1000 Crane Senbazuru Update

Progress: 1000/1000

Alright folks. I’m realising that I never did give to the long anticipated update.

I did it. I folded a thousand cranes.

And I got into film school.

It hasn’t been the #1 Ivy I had been aiming for, buy honestly, I highly doubt I would have been happy there anyway - instead I’m going to a university in New York (my dream city) and I’m so beyond happy to be able to spend the next four years doing something I love more than anything else.

This is a school I’ve wanted to go to since the age of 14 and as much as it kinda sucked to get 10 rejections, 1 acceptance is enough. I’m heading to NYC in August, and I can’t wait.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this nightmarish journey, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me!
