I've recently been enjoying a little exercise where I create a world with inherently screwed up rules (often NSFW in inspiration if not content) and then writing out a conversation between a character struggling with being in the world and a helpful figure (often a therapist or friend) who helps to guide them to a place of peace.

It's both heartwarming as any fluff involving a character venting and discovering their flaws and attempting to adjust themself can be, but also a bit tragic as the conclusion inherently draws itself in accepting the roles the rules of the world prescribe.

I must wonder some days if my dialogues with myself are just these, but for a world I am too immersed in to see the rules that bind me.

I've been enjoying the existence of Five Nights at Frickbear's 3 enough to get around to making a card based on the true final boss of the game, the wonderfully creepy, Psychic Foe Fredbear.

I had a few versions mapped around in my mind, including messing around with a conditional eminence ability, but going back to the basics with Rakdos gave me something I found more enjoyable.

A commander built around constantly cycling him from the graveyard to the battlefield and back, once he's online, he's designed to encourage constant aggression: both to send him back to where he won't stay and to take advantage of the five exiled cards before you loose them.

Honestly, the ramifications of the encouraged play pattern is something I'd want to test out in a proper deck; especially given that anything that gives the Fredbear player card draw is in actually a downside. And like any other form of graveyard recursion, graveyard hate is your enemy. It also gives a weird use case for One with Nothing, so that something.

The only way I'll draw anything close to shipping or romance is if I'm actually drawing something else.

It's hard to write jokes about abusing someone in the Weird Route (for me anyway), but Noelle taking agency(?) and committing double suicide (and murder)? Now there's room for a bit of black comedy. That's killing 3 birds with one lake, baybeee! I am still skipping WR in my comic tho. I just wanted to write this small joke.

I was trying to figure out how I wanted the serious depiction of WR to look, and these came out too cool for what I was going for, but they're still neat.

some thoughts on molting ft albino hornet

chimera alt as well but it didn’t look good to me so i just took her pigmentation lol

— these thoughts are roughly just about ‘normal’ molts not brought on by stress or critical injury (few bugs can molt to heal major wounds, hornet is one of them evidenced by her cocoons in game)

— stress and environmental factors can delay or trigger early molts. this leads to a rise of complications in an already risky process.

— bugs molt often when young and then slow to annual or less than annual as adults. in general molting for adults is to refresh their shell but may not include any significant growth depending on species. only the oldest bugs 'stop' molting. in truth, their molts are just more spaced out and they die before their next due to age or die during the molt

— loss of life or limb is common especially in solitary species or in bugs not watched over by their caregivers. though more severe scars may carry over several molts, shallower wounds do not. after maturation, limb regrowth is very unlikely

— as bugs need less food than other species and many tribes fast regularly, one's appetite is not a good indication of how soon a molt will be. the slow buildup is usually best noticed by one's tribe or colony but more perceptive bugs will see the signs of their molt on the horizon

— masked bugs will obviously remove their masks before a molt but will usually keep it nearby. as adults, masks rarely need to be refitted for new shells but it's very common for young bugs

— hornet's molts have been stalled for some time due to the stasis of her kingdom. her very first molt after the end of stasis was overly long and difficult

This was just something a friend asked me to do and I decided I might as well archive it on here. Built for personal use in a "Boss battle" custom commander format I've been work shopping, Royal Dominguez is the first planeswalker I've posted.

He's built around coming in with high loyalty, with nothing but negative loyalty abilities to slowly draw him to death. It's roughly a 1 to 1 recreation of the boss battle from the game, with the exclusion of giving the oppoent vermin and the passive muderizing of tree rodents.

I've seen other MTG fakecard blogs on Tumblr, but never liked any of them because they used AI to make the card art. Do you have opinions on this practice?

I’m not a fan of AI art, personally. One of the things I really enjoy about the cards I make is photoshopping wacky art together. I probably wouldn’t be making cards if I couldn’t do that!

Really enjoying logging onto Tumblr only to find nerds (affectionate) having mild disagreements in the comments of my posts. Really invokes that feeling that I run a pop up shop and folks will just walk up and debate about the classification of tomatoes as if I'm not there.
