Thank you!!
2. Where is your favorite place to write?
At my computer desk! I have some serious nerve issues in my left side going from my neck to my hands, and my hips do not lie but they would like a divorce, so I basically have to write in The Most Ergonomic Way Possible if I want any decent wordcount and to be able to feel my fingers later.
32. On average how much do you write in a day? do you have trouble staying focused/getting the word count in?
If we are talking straight fic to share with others, this is a super wide range because I’m not always writing fic. So my word count for ‘when I am doing the fic thing’ is probably about... 1k a day? Complicated Creation took me about 80 days to write and clocks in at 110k. When I have a story and I know where I’m going it’s usually not too hard to get the words to page, but when I don’t have a perfect hook or know exactly what comes next I can get stuck. I hit two points in CC where I didn’t write for a week.
For private writing (ie stuff that isn’t intended for an outside audience yet/ever) I average about 2.5k ish every other day. I think this is what helps me keep at fic writing, because I’m always stretching those muscles.
50. Do you share your rough drafts or do you wait until everything is all polished?
I sometimes share snippets on discord, because I’ll be proud of a piece and REALLY want feedback RIGHT THEN AND THERE, but I usually don’t share beyond that. My betas get something that has usually already been checked/reread/reworked at least once, if not twice, and once my betas are done I go over everything again before I post. I want things to be as polished as possible because I want my meaning to be carried correctly by my words, I’m always sad when something is misconstrued. :(
