I can tell you exactly what Kate Mitchell meant by referencing the “Vriska did nothing wrong” meme (referencing fandom memes being a long standing running joke in Pesterquest/Friendsim, to put things in context), because I listen to their podcast and heard it directly from their own fucking lips:
And for me it’s like, there’s a reason why all societies have a different method of treating the crimes of children. If you look at a situation where something happens between a group of children and you see that there are a number of adult figures who made that situation happen, it doesn’t fucking matter what the children did. It’s the adults’ fault. Like, no one is at fault or permanently scarred or damned or problematic for the results of an abusive system they were placed in as a child. And that is what I mean when I say that.

…which I mean, like, yeah. Vriska was fucking twelve at most when the Cycle of Revenge happened. And explicitly manipulated into it by Doc Scratch. Who is heavily pedophile-coded. So yeah.

Spirits of the Weasel Looking over satellite images of this area I noticed that some regions actually had this wonderful patterning common on river deltas in places like Iceland. before I visited Auyuittuq, I wanted to see if I could create something like that here as well, and things did work out! With a bit of elevation, the weasel river shows some of that patterning where movement of sediment can create interesting patterns. So strange to see these characteristics in a place that’s not really known for that. This scene really captured my imagination as the lovely turquoise streaks took different shapes.
