I’ve been carrying these name tags with me to every stop on the 100 Demon Dialogues Tour this summer. People are so brave and so open when they stop to fill them out. I have a guest book full of pages and pages of these. They never stop making me feel like I’ve been hit in the solar plexus, but seeing two people recognize that they’ve written the same thing on their tags at an event is golden.

I think about this demon a lot these days. It's an older one, back from before I started the official 100 Demon Dialogues project. I think this was the entry that made me realize there was something bigger going on. It's the thing I think of when I feel intimidated by other creators, or by opportunities that come my way. It's on my mind as I gear up to do an event in San Francisco tomorrow, at a venue I've dreamed of performing in since I was 12, with people I admire and respect. A year ago I probably would've been petrified, but today it feels just right. (If you're in San Francisco, come say hi. We'll be at 826 Valencia on Wednesday the 25th. Doors at 6:30pm.)
