#Repost @embroiderersguildukofficial • • • • • Give a Heart a Home❤ Over 300 members of the Embroiderers’ Guild have kindly donated their embroidered Hearts to enable us to raise funds for the Guild and the SSAFA, the special armed forces charity. We invite you make a donation to own a Heart. Images of the Hearts are being posted in batches on the Embroiderers’ Guild website throughout May and early June and each Heart will be awarded to the highest donation. Each Heart tells a story and commemorates those who fought in WW1. The Heart shown here, “Leaving the Tyne” by Rachel Wright, is in memory of the men of the Merchant Fleet and in particular the many immigrants and naturalised citizens who, in the face of xenophobic hostility, continued to serve their adopted country faithfully and well. Rachel’s Swedish great grandfather married a woman from South Shields and served as a crew member on a general cargo vessel called the MV Canto. This Heart and many others are available to browse on the Embroiderers’ Guild website where you can read more and learn about how to donate to a Heart 👇 www.embroiderersguild.com The final day for registering your donation or donations is 21st June 2019.
