15 Weeks since we last seen the legend,
15 weeks through recovery from injury <3
Dynamite 300th episode tonight and it doesn't feel right without the legendary Orange being there :( 100th episode of Collision on Saturday too.
I hope OC is healing up well and I can't wait for the future someday!
Imagine their goodbye before Ladybug’s miraculous resolves everything and they forget what just happened- also it was writing 12hours before ephemeral came out
The rain was pouring when Ladybug stopped walking. Chat Noir and she were in the middle of a park, the same where Marinette celebrated her birthday, the same where all of their class picniced that day, where she felt so full of love for her friends and how grateful she was for this life.
Besides her, Chat Noir swallowed hard. He remembered crying in this park a few weeks ago after Ladybug snapped at him. He couldn’t bare the idea of returning home and face the coldness, waiting for him. He tried hard, so hard not to cry but the tears were already messing with his sight. Despite what he thought that day, he was going to come back home. His heart ached. He will meet the emptyness of his home and ignore everything about who his father really is. He will continue to suffer from the lose of his mother; as if her body isn’t in his house’s basement. He will go back into thinking that he is losing, one by one, his friends and, at the same time, losing himself in the process.
His mouth twitched. The rain. Of course, he will be saying farewell to his best friend the same way they met that day. Chasing away his thougts, he turned his head towards the girl. She was already looking at him, soft features lightning the scene below his eyes. Everything around them was grey, black and white nuances interwined. She was shining, red highlightning the blue of her eyes. She has been her partner and much more to this day. How could he have known about her being his classmate, his best friend and his lover? Marinette has been by his side since the beginning. When he thought she hated him, she was already fightning along with Chat Noir. He thought he loved Ladybug; he thought that, finally, he found what true love actually felt. Heart pounding hard, nervous habits, adrenaline running through his veines. It was nothing like that. His emotions and needs actually created a storm that has been blinding him since the beginning. One thought was running his mind right now and he was determined to cherish it until a light made of ladybugs returns everything back to where it was.
He loved the feeling of living, being alive. He was addicted to it. That is why Chat Noir never held back in fights. He was meant to feel his short breath, like his lungs were going to explode, his aching muscles crying for rest and his heart thrilling. Therefore, when Ladybug detransformed under his eyes, he couldn’t understand the feeling growing up in his chest. He grew quiet. The calm came after the storm. Adrien never knew he was meant to be relieved. He never knew he would feel at ease by his lover’s side. He never knew he would enjoy the feeling of trusting blindly someone. That is why he decided he couldn’t cherish this treasure until they have defeated Hawk Moth.
“Are you sure?”
His throat tightened at her question. He simply nodded. He was making the good decision, so why was it so hard giving this up? It was his idea, Marinette was fine about knowing his idendity. She was ready to help him going through it. She wanted to be a good friend for Chat Noir. She wanted to give herself the same way she did with her friends.
She never knew how bad Adrien’s life was at home. She never understood how hurt was Adrien, his relationship with his father, how his freedom depended on Chat Noir. She was so focused into balancing her personal and super-hero life that she has been negliged her first friend, the one she could trust blindy. When she asked Chat Noir his identity on a roof, two days ago, she was nervous. Even scared. She realized she has been trying to hide her feelings and pretend Chat Noir could be her partner and nothing more. Of course, he became a friend but she never dared to think about him without his costume. She had forced herself making sure that Chat Noir was only Chat Noir. He couldn’t be someone she cherished so much, he couldn’t be someone she was afraid to lose, he couldn’t be someone that mattered in her life. And yet, he became something she couldn’t put words onto. When Adrien appeared before her, the whole world stopped. The boy she cared so much about was also the boy sitting in front of her everyday. Chat Noir, her dearest partner, was Adrien. And it made so much sense. Obviously Chat Noir wasn’t the outgoing and flirty guy he pretended to be, it was just a role for him to escape his life. She needed to be there for him like she already has been for Adrien, that is why she had been shocked when he was the one bringing the secret identity again. The fight had been rude; and he had discovered something Marinette hasn’t. The trust she put in him made her simply nod, not asking further explanations.
“It is not the right time yet Mari.”
The look on his face spoke for itself. A mix of regret, relief and gratefulness. She had never seen him so sincere about his own feelings. When he lifted his stick, transformed into an umbrella, his lips forming a gentle smile; Marinette saw him. Adrien. Her beloved teammate was at her sides every single day, trusting and supporting her. She wished she could have return the gesture; however, as he said, it wasn’t the right time.
The thunder hit, recalling the young girl to the reality, away from her regrets. She couldn’t help smiling. She stepped closer and interwined her arm with his, putting her head on his shoulder. The night and its silence fell upon them, making this moment theirs. Her free hand touched his suit and finally rested on his cheek. Her eyes dived into his and they shared a painful grin. It quickly turned into a nervous laugh. Why was it so difficult to say goodbye? Everything will go back to normal. Chat Noir and Ladybug forming a teammate; Marinette and Adrien being friends.
“I look forward for this day.”
Ladybug could hear his throat tightened, she pursed her lips.
“We’ll always find each other right?” She asked, unsure.
Chat Noir nodded, she quickly blinked, trying to keep the tears away. Her eyes fell on Bunnix, waiting for them further. Her partner’s hand brushed her cheek. Immediatly, her whole attention went back to him. Chat Noir gently caressed her cheek while their foreheads were resting against each other.
“Promise.” He whispered, eyes closed.
Ladybug quietly observed him, her heart aching. Another thunder reminded them the urgence of the situation. The longest they stayed, the hardest will it be to say goodbye.
“I love you.”
Her whisper made him open his eyes, surprised, then painfully happy. His lips brushed against hers. Their breaths falling on each others faces, hands clenching to their costumes, they were safe from the rain pouring. Still, they shared another wet kiss, tears streaming down their faces.
Chat Noir moved away and Ladybug finally joined Bunnix at the entrance of the park without glancing back at her partner and yet, clinging to his words.
and now, the moment you all have been waiting for (@captainsantiagos @sergeant-santiago), the meme @amazingsantiago made for me when i was too lazy to do it myself!
i present to you: pausing the last scene of Bones 5.16 because u cant breathe!
If it’s a Mxyzptlk time travel plot line wouldn’t it be nice if they explored one where Mon-El never left and we get to see an alternate reality of all that could’ve been?! A Kara who’s capable of both love and kicking ass???
