Do you realize Jason never tried to build a “normal life” since he came back? I mean, he didn’t even felt the need to find himself a job, or even an ID. Alright, he’s been crazy at some point, then better, than crazy again, depending on the writer, but... It still feels like he was glad to finally be able to dedicate 100% of his time to his own version of the Mission instead than loosing time on useless things like anything normal. No, not even glad -- he didn’t even consider the idea that there was an alternative.
