honestly the longer i’ve been vegan, the harder animal cruelty stuff is to stomach.

in the beginning there’s the shock factor of realizing the reality you’ve been oblivious to or even blatantly ignoring, so it rattles you a little. then you focus on diet, so you don’t have much time to think about the “why” behind cooking tofu.

then it’s almost 2 years later and veganism is a natural reflex.

but now i shudder involuntarly when i see chicken trucks pass me. everything makes my heart ache a little more. strays, roadkill, cow pastures. just seeing meat is enough to make me nauseous.

being vegan has only been more and more solidified into me as time passes. maybe it is killing me. maybe i am dying of a protein deficiency. but God, i cannot stand to be the cause of anymore suffering in the world—human or not.
