deca was sure that he had seen this man before, but where exactly was another story. blonde hair hidden under a familiar hat and the same frigid eyes that glared at ango behind tinted glasses — ah !!
“ e — excuse me, sir ! ” deca tugged at the man’s sleeve, vigilant as to not bother him ( ango had carefully warned him about who could and couldn’t be bothered, and deca remembered that this man wasn’t one to be reckoned with ). “ you’re . . . ayatsuji — san, right ? ”
dazai looks innocent enough , laying on the couch in the agency while humming . he hears someone enter , looking up to see a fellow member .
“ ah ! ranpo - san ~ “ he chirps , holding up a bag of assorted candies . “ i brought you a gift ~ but you have to do something for me ! “
@10dreamt // how will dazai piss off ranpo today ?

The legend surrounding the statue in Yokohama was one that cannot be ignored when one lived there their entire life. The statue wasn’t too far away from where she often took her and her brother’s clothes to get cleaned (it’s always been quite a relief they never questioned the occasional bloodstains). Even so, she never really gave it much more than a passing thought when she witnessed different people trying their hand at gaining a soulmate- literally. The qualification was strange: to hold the statue’s hand. If they were the chosen one, they’d become human.
It’s ridiculous, she thinks to herself as she watches another ‘failure’ in action, to become so wrapped up in this sort of fantasy. Fairytales aren’t real - Gin was forced to learn this the hard way long ago. Yet, she couldn’t fully let go of an internalized, subconscious hope that there was even the slimmest chance they could exist. Abilities could exist, so why couldn’t legends? Gin has no particular wish to find a soulmate, but she is captured with bittersweet intrigue about the general mysticism around the statue. If it worked, wouldn’t it be a sign of some sort of higher power? An external force, unable to be directly changed under human will other than being the right person? A calling, a sign even, that things could be good.
She decides that she wants to believe. Even if it’s for a second, to laugh at herself immediately after for humoring the myth. Gin waits for the last person at the statue to leave before walking toward it. She takes the plunge - hesitation halting her for a couple of seconds before placing her hand in the statue’s. The assassin closes her eyes.
This was dumb of her.

As one of her first duties since being dispatched to the new city, she was told to patrol certain areas as an unsuspecting observer. If there had been anyone of the Guild left that had been wandering around, Hana was to not act but mentally note it and report back later. The hesitation didn't make much sense to her, but if that helped ease their minds a little bit, then so be it. One hand scrolls through her phone gallery of oh-so-flattering candids of the culprits for memory sake while she wanders about the port. Her eyes then land on striking orange hair, which quickly avert back to her phone screen for quick comparison. That had to be one of them! But what was he doing so casually after threatening a catastrophic demise to the city?? Was he... fishing?! She couldn't be sure as he had his back to her, but it definitely looked like fishing from where she was standing.
Hana knows she's not supposed to interact with the culprits. Yet, she can't help herself.
“Excuse me,” she clears her throat while closing the distance between them. Her eyebrows furrow, honestly more baffled than anything else. No going back now that she already spoke to him. “Um-.... What are you doing?”
Amazing save, Hana.
