I recently wrote about my interest in participating in a local 10K walk / run. Well, I found out that it takes (at minimum) eight to ten weeks for a beginner to adequately train for it.
I'm still within the timeframe of eight weeks to start now and be at least somewhat ready by then. I've never been a runner, so this is a very new endeavor and I'm excited. I'll start training tomorrow morning (God help me lol)🙂! Even if I don't feel "ready" by the date, I will have improved my fitness level, so that's a win-win.
Here I go🏃🏾♀️lol.
I'm wondering if I should sign up for a local 10K walk / run that will occur in late March. I have no idea if I can train enough now in order to be prepared to do this safely 🤔. I only found out about this 10K last night, but I am *very* interested in trying something new like this.
I'm fairly active, exercise regularly, and walk at least 2 miles three to four times per week. That seems perhaps insufficient for conditioning though.
My thighs are flame red and they're slowly melting into something not ice-related again and I feel really great that I actually went on that stupid walk!
Goal #1 accomplished: 10k walk!!!!!!!!!
It did help that the scenery was so pretty too, I'm gonna post a few pictures in a minute :D
