@i-calumhood: hey pumpkin, for your blurb week, may i suggest a calum and mara thing where she gets a cold and you can’t take off work so cal stays home from the studio to take care of her, and just so many snuggles and movies and naps and cal’s heart just hurts bc she’s so miserable and he hates seeing his moon in pain :( love you lauren, congrats again on 10k!!! 💓😍
“I promise it’ll make you feel better, my little moon.” Calum tried to bargain with Marama, who was wailing sadly in his arms and shaking her head against his shoulder.
“No, dada.” She mumbled again, not liking the look of the thick yellow medicine sat on the spoon in her dad’s hand, waiting for her to swallow it. She wasn’t silly. She knew it wouldn’t taste good, and that’s why she was refusing to have it. Every time Calum had to give Mara medicine, he always wondered why the companies that produced it didn’t make it look more appealing - not bright yellow, like the banana medicine he was trying to get her to take.
She had woken that morning with a fever, her skin much hotter than usual and causing her so much discomfort. She had picked up a cold from the nursery that she attended a few days a week - her nose was blocked, her chest congested, she was so sad. It broke Calum’s heart to see her unwell, and he was happy he managed to get the day off from the studio to stay home and take care of her.
“As soon as you have this, we can watch Moana on the sofa with Duke.” He promised her, knowing she was due another nap. She rubbed her sore nose and eyes against his t-shirt, and Calum found himself not caring about the mess she had left there. As a dad, he had been covered in all kinds of bodily fluids, and it no longer fazed him. He just wanted her to feel better. He knew the crying wasn’t helping, making her breathing more raspy as she coughed in between cries. “Shh shh, baby girl. I know you aren’t feeling well, but this will help. Come on, sweetheart.”
He rubbed her back, trying to coax her to open up and let him give her the medicine. He had her bottle filled with water ready for afterwards, to get the taste out of her mouth and keep her hydrated. She reluctantly opened her mouth and he quickly moved the spoon towards her before she changed her mind, watching as her nose scrunched up and her cries increased at the taste.
“That’s my big girl.” He cooed, aimlessly throwing the spoon into the sink and grabbing her water, letting her drink at it thirstily. “Good girl. Where’s Duke? Shall we go and watch Moana now?”
Her sleepy eyes lit up at the mention of her furry brother, settling her head against Calum’s neck as he carried her into the lounge. He had several blankets, teddies and pacifiers at the ready, trying anything he could to soothe and cheer her up. He whistled for Duke, not having to wait long before he could hear little paws tapping along the wooden floors of the house.
He managed to get comfortable on the sofa without having to move Mara, which she was happy about. She clung to the neck of his t-shirt, his familiar heartbeat and warm skin soothing to her as she cuddled into him. He kissed her soft curls, as an added reassurance that he was there. His heart melted as she nuzzled her head in further to his neck, sucking her pacifier harder to soothe herself.
“Dada, ouch.” She mumbled sadly, Calum’s heart aching in his chest at her words. He didn’t know exactly what she was talking about; it could’ve been her throat, her chest, or ears. But all he knew was that he would do anything to try and make it better. “Ouch.”
“I know, little moon. I know you’re hurting.” He sighed, hoping she understood that he couldn’t fix it quite as easily as he liked to. He ran a hand through her messy curls, the soothing motion making her close her eyes, the exhaustion of not feeling well catching up with her. “Shall we have a little sleep?”
She nodded against his neck and he rocked her, hoping the movement would get her to sleep a little faster. He could hear the rasp in her breathing as she fell asleep, and he rubbed her back a little firmer to try and clear it. She was just about to fall asleep; that was until she suddenly tensed up and sneezed against his chest, causing a whole new bout of tears.
“Oh, bless you, little moon.” Calum cooed, wiping her nose before readjusting her in his arms. “It’s okay, you can go back to sleep. Shhh.”
He persisted with the rocking and quietened the TV, in an effort to get her to go back to sleep. His heart rate settled a little when her raspy breathing evened out and she fell asleep, but not letting go of his t-shirt between her chubby fingers. He kissed her cheek, pulling a blanket over the three of them as he held her as she slept, content she had finally settled. “Sleep tight, little moon.”

I once saw this video of a dad reading his kid a book about daddies and as soon as he‘s finished the kid says Mama as their first word, so could you maybe write Calum doing the same thing and expecting Mara to say Daddy and she just looks at you and says Mama. Calum‘s like so shocked cause he just said the word Daddy probably 50 times to her and she still said Mama
(In case anyone wants to see the video - this is it! It’s SO cute 🥺)
He’d be so desperate for Mara’s first word to be dada that he would be trying everything he could to get her to say it. She babbles random sounds a lot so he’d constantly be saying “dada” to her to get her to say it. His last attempt at getting her to say it would be to get a book in which he’d end up saying the word dada so many times.
So he’s sat in the soft rocking chair in the corner of the nursery with her in his arms, and he’s reading the book to her before her afternoon nap. It was part of their daily routine; he loved reading to her and seeing her fall asleep in his arms. But today he was determined to finish the book before she fell asleep so that she’d say dada before she slept.
He’d start to read the book and she’d help to turn the pages like she always did, her chubby hands reaching out and flicking between the pages, even before Calum was done reading it. But he loved it. She’d start to get sleepier but he’d keep reading, saying and reading the word “dada” on every page. You’d enter the room and sit with them, wanting to be there in case she did end up saying her first word, and not wanting to miss it.
They’d nearly reach the end of the book and he’d turn to the last page and point to it, saying “who is it Mara? Who am I?” and he’d just wait excitedly for her to say it. She’d look up at him with sleepy eyes and her pacifier would slip out of her lips as she called out “mama!” and reached her arms out to you.
You’d both gasp in surprise and probably startle her and she’d reach out for you again, and you’d pull her into your arms and cuddle her. “That’s right, baby girl! You said your first word!”
“That’s not fair! I had a whole book!” Calum would exclaim, a tiny bit annoyed that he hadn’t managed to get her to say dada first, but how cute she sounded saying mama making it less hard to take. “That’s okay, little moon. As long as you promise that dada is gonna be your next word.”
This is kinda specific but could you write sometbing about Calum taking marama for her first shots as a newborn? Or maybe when she’s not much older? And how Calum would react
“She’s gonna hate me.”
Calum murmured to you, glancing at eight week old Mara, fast asleep in her pushchair bundled in blankets to keep her warm on the brisk walk to the doctors office.
“She won’t, Cal. She won’t even remember it.” You reassured him, linking one of your hands with his, resting on his knee to stop it anxiously bouncing. “It’s important in the long run. She’ll be fine.”
In the lead up to the vaccinations, Calum had continuously switched between wanting to hold Mara so he could comfort her and then not wanting to hold her so he didn’t have to see it happen. But he had decided he wanted to hold her, so he could do everything in his power to make sure she was okay. Not that you were complaining - you were glad Calum was happy to do it.
“Marama Hood?”
Calum’s heart rate picked up as his daughters name was called, and the two of you stood up from your seats in the waiting room. Calum anxiously took ahold of the handle of the pushchair as you made your way into the small office, greeting the doctor as she introduced herself.
“Oh dear, am I interrupting nap time?” She asked, noticing Mara asleep in the pushchair, still in Calum’s grasp. “It won’t take long, I promise.”
“Come here, little moon.” Calum murmured, unclasping the straps of the pushchair, placing his hands underneath her body and pulling her into his chest. She whined at being disturbed, a few cries spilling from her lips as she tried to get comfy against Calum, so she could fall asleep again. “Sorry, sweetheart. I know, you weren’t finishing sleeping yet.”
“I know this seems scary, but it’s over in a second. She might be a little fussy for the rest of the day, it can sometimes cause a little discomfort or a rise in body temperature as they aren’t used to the feeling. Nothing to worry about though.” The doctor explained and you nodded, trying to take the information in and trying not to think about what she was about to go through.
Calum set her down on the bed, his heart aching as her cries increased at losing contact with him, just wanting to pull her into his arms again. He shushed her rhythmatically as he unbuttoned her baby grow, so her leg could be free for the vaccination.
“I know, baby, I know.” He cooed sympathetically, a long finger stroking her cheek softly as she cried. “She’s crying already, she hasn’t even had the shot yet.”
“It’s not uncommon for them to cry in these situations, I know it’s hard though.” The doctor chuckled sympathetically, ripping open the packages of equipment that she’d be using. “If you could just hold her in your arms and make sure her leg is accessible, that’ll be just fine.”
Calum did as the doctor instructed and held her facing away from him, but as close as he could. He held her leg gently so the doctor could get to it, and his stomach turned at the sight of the needle in the doctors hands. He kept his head against Mara’s, his lips next to her ear so he could whisper reassurances into it.
“Small scratch, and we’ll be all done.” In reality it took seconds but to Calum it felt much longer; humming a soothing tune in Mara’s ear as the doctor quickly administered the shot. Mara’s big brown eyes filled with even more tears as she showed her discomfort, Calum’s heart breaking as she cried.
“That’s my brave girl.” He cooed to her, rearranging her in his arms so she was pressed close to his chest, but avoiding touching her leg where the doctor had just covered the spot with a plaster. You handed a pacifier to him as he rocked her, pressing it to her lips as an added comfort. “Shh, my little moon. It’s all over, we’re all done. I’ve got you.”
You listened intently to the doctor as she explained the possible side effects in m more detail; handing you a leaflet of information in case you would need it. Mara was slowly calming down, her face in Calum’s neck as he tried to soothe her.
Hours later, he still hadn’t put her down, apart from giving her to you so you could feed her. He felt like as long as she was in his arms that he could make everything okay, even though he knew that wasn’t truly the case. But as he watched her fall asleep in his arms later that night, he knew he’d do anything he could to make sure she was always okay.

@maluminspace: YESSSSS BABY TWIN BOY AMD GIRL PLS!!! THAT WOULD BE SUPER ADORABLE 😭 You could start it where they’re tiny newborns like still in the hospital and they’re so tiny and soft in their little blankets and hats and he can’t stop staring them and he wants to pick them up and cuddle them but they’re sleeping and you tell him he needs to sleep too but he doesn’t want to leave the twins yet and I’m getting carried away so I’ll stop 🙈
“They’re so tiny.”
Michael whispered, for not the first time that day. You chuckled from your spot in the unfamiliar bed, pulling the scratchy blankets up a little further around your waist, trying to get comfortable enough to get some sleep.
“You haven’t slept in nearly 24 hours, Michael.” You reminded him, not able to take your eyes away from where your husband was perched on the end of your bed, his gaze stuck on the sleeping bundles in the crib in front of him. One boy, one girl. His heart felt so complete. The tone of your voice reminded him of his own mother, who found him many times as a teenager, still awake in the middle of the night, too focused on his video games to sleep. Although, his lack of sleep right now was for a much different reason. It reminded him that you were in fact now just that - a mother. To Nancy and Felix Clifford, who he couldn’t avert his attention from. “You should get some sleep, before they wake up and we have to do everything again.”
“I just can’t stop staring at them.” He murmured softly, letting his pointer finger run up and down Felix’s soft cheek. The tiny boy stirred a little, an even tinier hand escaping the blanket he was swaddled in to rub his eyes. “Oh my god, babe. They’re the cutest babies i’ve ever seen.”
“If I say you can hold them, does that mean you’ll at least try to sleep?” You tried to bargain with him, knowing it would be a struggle to get him to stop staring at them without giving them a cuddle first. His eyes lit up at this - with excitement, and nervousness. Holding one baby seemed terrifying enough, but two? It made his heart race a little faster.
“I don’t want to wake them up, though.” He looked at you anxiously, and your heart warmed at the anticipation in his eyes.
“You won’t, Mike. If you’re gentle, they’ll probably just stay asleep on you.” You reassured him, slowly moving in bed so you were sat up closer to where Michael was. He gently moved the little crib closer to you, where you could reach the babies without enduring too much discomfort. Michael moved so he could sit comfortably near the head of the bed, letting the pillows support his back so he could hold the babies securely. “Here you go.”
“Woah.” The noise rushed past his lips before he could stop it, almost as a reflex. The sweet snuffles and tiny snores spilling from Nancy’s pouty lips made his heart ache, at how much he loved her. She was a warm, comforting weight on his chest, and it made him feel so content.
“Are you ready for Felix too?” You asked him, making sure he had a good grasp of Nancy as you cradled Felix in your hands. He nodded, making sure he had one firm but gentle hand on Nancy’s back, to keep her snug against his chest. He held his free arm out, wrapping it around Felix’s back as you laid him on the other side of his chest, right next to his sister.
“There we go. Hi, babies.” He cooed softly to them, trying to relax his tight grip on the twins, so they could snuggle a little closer to eachother. They had spent nine months together growing inside of you, all they knew of the world was eachother. They felt secure together, and Michael wanted them to feel safe. He had been waiting for this moment for nine months - it felt so surreal. “I’ve got you.”
You sat quietly next to them, letting him have his moment with the new babies. You rested your head on his shoulder, setting back into the bed, appreciating the quietness of the room.
“You did so good, baby.” He spoke softly against your hairline, his lips resting there as he kissed your forehead. He was in awe of you, of your body, and everything you had done for him. “I’m so proud of you.”
“We both did it.”
A/N: So there we go! We have our Michael universe! Thank you SO much for the suggestion @maluminspace - I hope you love this! I’m doing blurb week until next Sunday so if you have any requests please let me know here ♥️

Please can you write another part of your dad!calum? Maybe Mara having a really restless night and Calum insists on getting up every time she cries and you get up for some water early in the morning and find him asleep on the sofa with Mara fast on his bare chest? 😭
“Again?”
You murmured into the soft pillow, your eyes heavy as you were pulled out of light sleep again. It had only half an hour since you last rocked Mara to sleep, and you were exhausted. Calum groaned from his spot next to you in bed, already sitting up to go and get her.
“I’ve got her, baby.” He reassured you, kissing your forehead as he reached into the crib at the end of your bed. She was wailing unhappily, rubbing at her sleepy eyes and kicking her legs in the air. Calum knew she wasn’t about to stop crying anytime soon, and wanted you to get some sleep - so he decided to take her into the nursery. “I’ll go rock her for a while. Go back to sleep.”
He flicked the light on in the nursery, the room yet to be used properly as Mara still slept in your bedroom. He wasn’t sure he could ever fall asleep without the sound of her gentle breathing in the room, a reassurance to him that she was there. He settled into the soft rocking chair in the corner, grabbing a blanket and wrapping it around Mara as she cried into his neck.
“What’s with all the tears, little moon? You’re not having a good sleep tonight, are you?” He coped, rubbing her back softly and beginning to rock in the chair. She kept rubbing at her eyes like she always did when she was tired. “Shhh. You’re so sleepy, bubs, why don’t you want to sleep?”
It took a little longer of rocking back and forth before she finally calmed down and fell asleep again. Calum stayed with her against his chest for a little longer, hoping she’d stay asleep this time. Deciding that she was in a deep enough sleep to put her down, he headed back to the bedroom and settled her back into the crib.
“Is she asleep?” You asked softly, not managing to fall back asleep in the time he had been in the nursery.
“Yeah.” He replied quietly, not wanting to wake her up again so soon. He pressed a kiss to your lips before climbing back into bed next to you, instantly settling against the soft mattress.’
It didn’t take long for the two of you to fall asleep again - but it also wasn’t long before Mara woke up crying again, much to your dismay.
“I’ll take her downstairs and get her a bottle.” He reassured you, making your heart melt at how attentive he was - and how much he wanted you to be able to sleep, no matter how tired he was. “Come on, my fussy little moon.”
She continued crying again his bare shoulder as he shushed and hummed a tune in her ear, trying to soothe her. She hadn’t had a night as unsettled as this since was a newborn; she usually slept well. She would sometimes wake up for a feed in the middle of the night, but never as much as this.
Even in his sleep deprived state, he still managed to make up a bottle with his spare hand, knowing that putting Mara down anywhere would only result in further tears.
“Come on, sweetheart.” He murmured to her, settling down on the sofa with her in his arms, keeping her as close as he could. A chill had set over the house during the night, and he knew Mara being cold would not help the situation, so he pulled the soft throw from the edge of the sofa over the two of them. It took a few attempts of him putting the nib of the bottle to her lips before she stopped fussing enough to realise what it was, and finally started drinking it. “There we go. Is that better?”
He rocked her in his arms as she ate, not stopping the gentle singing that fell from his lips, watching as her eye lids slowly grew heavier. She barely finished half of the bottle before it slipped from her lips, and he retrieved the pacifier that he had brought down with him so she had something to soothe herself with. She always slept better with one in. The exhaustion of getting up so many times with her took over and he closed his eyes for just a second, as the soothing sound of Mara’s steady breathing and quiet snores took over the room.
Waking up in an empty bed always felt strange to you, but even more, when you knew Calum was in the house. He wasn’t on tour, you knew he didn’t have to go to the studio. So where was he? It was then you noticed Mara wasn’t in her crib, and you knew it was likely you’d find the two of them together.
Slipping on one of his tshirts, you made your way downstairs to find the two of them, your heart melting as you heard the gentle snores coming from the lounge. Calum was sprawled out on the sofa, Mara tucked perfectly on his chest with her head smushed into his neck. They both looked so settled and content, that you couldn’t resist pulling out your phone and snapping a few photos of the sweet moment. You also couldn’t stop yourself from joining them - running your hands through Calum’s buzzed hair so he knew you were there without startling him. He groaned slightly and opened his eyes, looking around in confusion when he realised he was in the living room and being careful not to jolt Mara on his chest.
“It’s okay, Cal.” You whispered to him, kissing his cheek and lips. “I think you were just as tired as Mara.”
“Mmm.” He mumbled in acknowledgment of what you said, wrapping his free arm around your waist and pulling you in closer to his body. The darkness spilling in from the window let him know that it wasn’t quite morning yet, and he had no plans of getting up anytime soon. “It’s not time to wake up yet.”
“Okay, babe.” You chuckled against his bare chest, his warm skin already making you feel sleepy in his arms. “Goodnight, again.”

I thought TikTok talking about how these command strips can hold up to 12 pounds so in theory you could hang a baby using them and I mean if I thought about doing it you know 5sos thought about doing it
LMAO what, is this a thing? That sounds dangerous but like .... are we pretending 5sos wouldn’t think to do this? Maybe not to their own babies? But like, whoever was first to have a baby, I can imagine Michael or Luke being like .... maybe we could do this lmao. Then the dad of the baby would be like you are literally not touching my child if that’s what you’re going to do LMAO
