(A.N. This was a request I got on Tumblr... literally over a year ago. I am @sorry for the wait. Oops. Now I can't even find the messages I had to see what the expectations are for the fic or to tag the person who requested it. I'm so sowwy! I had no clue how I was going to finish this fic either, so I apologise if the ending is sloppy, but I just absolutely had to get this out of my drafts.)

"I can't let you post it, you know," The Doctor stated, exasperation covering his face and seeping through his voice. "Too many people would recognise me. It's not a good idea."
"Who said I was going to post it?" Turning to give him an amused grin, (Y/n) nudged his shoulder gently. "It's just something fun- and, a good way to keep memories alive!"
The Doctor's brows raised, the left side of his lips quirking up in just the slightest smile as the girl stepped in front of him.
"Whenever we want to remember what happened here and all the fun we had, we can just rewatch the video!" His companion exclaimed, excitement practically twinkling in her eyes.
"I suppose so, but you have to promise not to post it." The Doctor pulled one of his hands from the pocket of his trench coat, pointing it menacingly at (Y/n) as she quickly nodded in agreement.
Without a hint of hesitation, she proclaimed, "I promise!"
The Doctor tilted his head, seeming to study her before tucking his hand back into his pocket. Seemingly satisfied, he pursed his lips and nodded.
"Alright, then. Show me what you have so far." He requested, watching as (Y/n) whipped out her phone and opened up the camera app. "Aw, seriously, you used a standard phone app? That's just pitiful."
Almost immediately, a frown covered (Y/n)'s face as she turned to give him a look, "I can't afford any big fancy cameras, Doctor. This is all I have. Besides, do you have anything better?"
"Yes, I do, actually," Seeming contented, the Doctor began to roll around on the balls of his feet. "I have plenty of gidgets and gadgets that would do a much better job than that sorry machine."
(Y/n) could only huff at him in annoyance, pouting as she whined, "Well why didn't you mention that earlier? That would have been so much better-"
(Y/n) cut herself off, a thought jumping front and centre in her mind, "Would you be able to teach me how to use any of those machines? For future reference?" She turned to face him better, looking him straight in the eye with her knuckles turning white from the strained grip she had on her phone.
The Doctor pursed his lips again, rolling his head around on his shoulders as he observed her before finally conceding, saying, "Well, when your eyes sparkle like that, I can't say no, can I?" His companion immediately began jumping with glee, before he raised his hands and swiftly calmed her.
"But first, show me the video! You said you already have it edited and everything!" He exclaimed, grabbing her hand and dragging her to the sitting area nearby.
"Oh! Right, right!" Swiftly, (Y/n) whipped her phone around in her hands and pulled out the video in a few short taps. Apparently, she had already watched it halfway through on her own- because the video immediately started playing at the twelve minute point rather than the beginning.
"-if we get murdered, it will most definitely not be my fault-" The Doctor's voice chimed out, chiding the past version of (Y/n) who had claimed their murder would be on the Doctor's hands.
The Doctor leaned forward in interest, hardly remembering his own words, before (Y/n) restarted the video. The first thing the Doctor's eyes were pleased to see was a horrible shot of the underside of (Y/n)'s chin as she badly hid the camera from his past self's view.
"Alright, Doctor, where are we today?" She asked, the footage shaky as she fought to keep up with the Doctor's long strides.
"Well, I remember you saying you wanted to visit some place creepy- so today, (Y/n), we are in Atchison, Kansas, planet Earth, fall of 2019," He explained in the video with optimism.
The girl in the video nodded, and quickly replied, "That explains the good wifi signal." The real Doctor started in his place on the couch as (Y/n) snorted at her own comment.
"I'm already hilarious," She stated, knocking shoulders with the Time Lord. In reply, he rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the video- just in time to see that his companion had managed to capture his previous eye roll at the first comment on camera.
"Now- why are we on planet Earth, in Kansas, in 2019 when we could be literally anywhere else in the universe?" (Y/n) asked, a car siren going off in the distance. However, she quickly stopped where she was and gasped.
"Oh, wow- this place is beautiful," She sighed, turning the camera around to catch the sight of a gorgeous mansion with a red roof and a beautifully groomed lawn bathed in the sunset's light. "Is this why we're here, Doctor?"
The Doctor nodded, jumping on the balls of his feet and trotting over to one of the hedges that guarded the lot. When he was in front of it, he squatted down and sent himself flying over it with a huff. His long, skinny legs flew over his head before he smashed into the ground with an 'umph.'
A bark of a laugh left his companion's lips, before she trotted over to him- and suddenly, her camera phone was tossed over the hedge, just barely managing to capture her graceless vault over the hedge and more so capturing her face plant into the lawn.
"Well that's a great way to start off the night, i'nt it?" The Doctor laughed, standing to his feet and brushing off his trench coat.
(Y/n) laughed with joy, grabbing the hand he offered her and jumping to her feet before smacking the grass and dirt off her legs, "Why didn't you just park the TARDIS in the yard?"
"Because I like a good ol' jump every now and then! It's great on the calves," Without missing a beat, the Doctor defended himself.
After the quick jests, the pair hurried up to the front of the mansion. The Doctor was quick to reveal his sonic screwdriver, opening one of the doors and quickly dragging (Y/n) inside. When her eyes spied the interior of the mansion, she made a sound that revealed the drop of her stomach.
"Oh," She started, "This isn't quite as enchanting as the outside, I have to say..." Her voice trailed off, before the Doctor relocked the door behind them.
"Yes, well," He began to explain, pressing himself against her as he looked around, "Welcome to the Winchester Mansion. If you think it's creepy now, wait till we get further inside."
"Alright, seriously now, Doctor, why are we here?" The girl quizzically asked as the man moved past her to waltz down the hall. She followed after him quickly, refusing to lose track of him as he wandered the house.
"We're here to visit an old friend of mine," He explained, "He's a bit of a hermit, really, likes to give people a right good scare- but, he's harmless. Totally harmless."
"Why does it feel like you're trying to convince me this night will end well?" Exasperated, (Y/n) sighed, the camera shifting to view her rubbing the bridge of her nose in a faked stress. However, when the Doctor chuckled at her words, a small smile bloomed beneath her hand before she attempted to smother it. Her attempts were in vain, seeing as the Doctor's foot found the wrong side of an elegant carpet and nearly sent him tumbling to the ground. A howl of a laugh left her lips, before she gave up on her act.
Recorded-(Y/n) gently put a hand on his elbow, helping him straighten up. When he was back on his feet, he gave her a cheesy, thankful grin before continuing down the eerie, dark hall.
The Doctor and (Y/n) watched as their past selves ventured through the Winchester mansion. (Y/n) seemed to have watched the video several times before, seeing as each time something would happen she would intently watch the Doctor's face for his reaction. Each time he laughed, she laughed herself.
There were moments in the video that the Doctor hadn't expected. Intimacy was plain between the two time travellers in the video- however, the Doctor never would have known he was so affectionate with his companion if it weren't for the video.
He watched as his recorded-self encouraged (Y/n) to open a door and step out, laughing when she was shocked to find nothing but a sharp fall on the other side. She had turned to him with a gasp and immediately accused him of wanting her to fall, but her accusations were quickly hushed when she was wrapped up in his arms.
The Doctor frowned at the phone's poor job of recording. In the embrace, although he could hear the giggles and quips between his past self and (Y/n), he could only see his armpit in the video. He wished he could see her face in that moment- wished he could see her smile when he embraced her. Something told him there was a smile reserved specifically for him, specifically for when he wouldn't see. The poor Time Lord was dying to see it.
Suddenly, recording videos with (Y/n) didn't seem so bad anymore. In fact, as the video played on, the Doctor began to plan how he could record future adventures with (Y/n). After all, he wanted to see that smile that's just for him. And, he never wanted to forget what being with her was like. Somehow, even in a dark, creepy mansion with seemingly nothing eventful taking place, the pair of them together were able to entertain themselves with vast stupidity. That stupidity was worth the risk, he supposed.
From that point on, the Doctor vowed to record every adventure with (Y/n).
A blast echoed down the hallway, and seemingly in sync, the Doctor and Donna dove through the nearest doorway as fast as possible. Then, scrambling on their knees and hands, they both slammed the double doors behind them locking them without a second thought. They panted as they slid down the door and onto the ground. Finally, the sweet, tingly soreness could be felt seeping into their legs as they relaxed.
The Doctor closed his eyes, a few loud laughs slipping from his lips as his head went, 'thunk,' against the door behind him. Donna was quick to join in on the laughter, glancing at the Doctor's quaking form through her teary eyes. Several seconds passed like this, simple, loud and ugly laughter echoing through the room, before Donna was forced to gulp down oxygen. A couple more chuckles left their chests, before a gentle pair of footsteps caught their attention.
The sound of a nice voice reached both of their ears, calling teasingly, "Just the Doctor?" Immediately, the Doctor's eyebrows shot up into the air, and he bolted upright on wobbly legs, a bright, amazed smile on his face.
"(Y/n)?! Why- how did you get here?" Scrambling on his tired feet, excitement poured through every movement as he rushed forward to give the girl's hand a firm shake. "It's great to see you!"
"And you," (Y/n) grinned, looking over at Donna. "Didn't know if I should've interrupted your little laughing fit, so I waited a bit. Now, who's the lovely redhead?"
"Donna!" Said woman introduced herself, waving a hand before standing up, wiping her jeans off. "Nice to meet you."
"You as well," She greeted cordially, reaching forward and giving her hand a firm shake. A bang echoed against the doors, but the group did barely anything besides glance in the general direction of the noise.
However, very quickly, Donna's attention was snatched back to the beginning of this conversation, "Wait, I'm sorry, did you call him, 'Just the Doctor?'"
"I sure did," The girl grinned, glancing over to meet the Doctor's eyes. "Surely someone's done it before me."
A snort brought Donna's attention back to the gangly man himself, as he remarked, "No one's kept it up, though. Not as long as you have."
Smile brightening, (Y/n) stated, "Well, I guess I've made a world record, haven't I?"
This time, a series of bangs echoed against the door, but the Doctor simply chuckled, "More like a universal record." He shuffled around a bit, now standing right beside (Y/n) so he could keep his eyes on the door.
"Well, good for me," (Y/n) replied, once again meeting Donna's gaze with a smile. "Alright, now I'm curious. How'd you two wind up in this mess? I mean- I should've expected it, but really."
Donna laughed, throwing her head back as she pointed an accusing finger towards the Doctor, "That man right there, said he wanted to take me to a festival. He should've mentioned it was a cannibal festival."
"Well," The Doctor quickly jumped to his own defence, "Cannibal is a loose term, really."
A strange expression crossed (Y/n)'s face, and she turned to give him a look while stating, "No, no it's not."
Rolling his eyes with a sigh, the Doctor whipped out his screwdriver, before moving on from the topic, "How about we just blow this popsicle stand, and get back to the TARDIS?" He earned a couple nods of agreement, and smirked as he pointed his tool towards the doors.
"Sounds like a plan, Space Man," Donna quipped, moving herself behind the Doctor, already steeling herself for the long run ahead. She was dying to get her hands on a lemonade, anyway.
"Count me in, Just the Doctor," (Y/n) grinned, unconsciously leaning towards the Doctor just so she could hear the familiar whir of the screwdriver. And with that, the Doctor pressed a button and open the doors sprang. Without another thought, the trio rushed out the doors and straight past the cannibals waiting for them.
"Put on a fancy dress, Donna!" The Doctor screamed as she disappeared down the hall. Hearing her call of acknowledgement, he nodded in satisfaction before skipping over to his reflection. Quickly fixing himself up, he smiled at himself before wheeling on his heel.
Hastily, he set the coordinates of the TARDIS, humming as he skipped and hopped along to drive her. She shook and wavered, shuttering before landing with a small crash to the ground. Just on time, Donna stumbled out into the console room.
"You idiot!" She immediately shrieked, pointing an accusing finger at him. "I was just slipping on my dress, when I fall head first into a bloody rack of clothes and take a couple buttons to the nose!" Immediately, he put his hands up in surrender.
"Oops?" He muttered sheepishly. Then, as she began to march over to him he began to try and save his hide by appealing to her interests.
"Wait, wait!" The man cried. "We're somewhere expensive! Mini quiche, escargot! And fancy wines! Think of the chocolate wines! Yum!"
Donna continued to march towards him, not stopping as she backed him up into his own ship's console. However, her gaze had softened from anger to curiosity faster than he had ever imagined.
With a stomp of her foot, she demanded, "Well, tell me where we are, then!"
Letting a relieved sigh pass his lips, he ran a hand through his hair. Slightly rolling his eyes, he turned on his heel and began to march towards the door. For a moment, he stopped to look over his trench coat. However, instead he checked he had his sonic screwdriver with him and left the coat as he opened the door for Donna with a dramatic bow.
"My lady," He teased, causing her grumble angrily.
"Well, at least you have manners," She mumbled, stepping out the door. Looking around, she noticed they were on a familiar street of London. However, it was night and the street was almost empty save the people crowding into a large building about a block away. Glancing at the street, she noticed how clean they were, and how old the concrete appeared.
The Doctor closed the door behind him, stepping out beside Donna and taking a deep breath in through his nose, "Year two thousand fifty two, January third. London, England. The day a new power source was born."
Glancing at him, she nodded slowly, "A new power source? Or, a perfected one?"
"A new one! Isn't that exciting?" The Doctor exclaimed, reaching out to loop his arm around Donna's. "Allons-y!"
Quickly, he tugged her along as she suddenly complained, "Man, and I thought my dress was fancy." The Doctor turned to catch what she was looking at, and grimaced at a woman wearing a full ballgown seeming to be completely made out of different types of feathers.
"Oh, I think I like your dress better," He admitted, continuing to pull her along. Easily using his psychic paper as an invitation, he got the two of them inside without any problems.
Suddenly, just as he was about to lead her to a couple of seats, Donna jumped excitedly, "Oh look! Fancy punch!" Confused, the Doctor's head swivelled as he turned to glance at a giant fountain filled with a bright red liquid. He watched as people dunked their cups under, before turning around to chug it.
"Fancy indeed!" With a grin he agreed, going off course. Grabbing a cup for both Donna and himself, he dunked it under the falling liquid. Immediately, he handed the second cup to Donna, and together they tilted it back and took a nice gulp.
A satisfied moan left Donna's lips as she cried, "By God this stuff is good!" People turned to glance in her direction, and she shied away from their glances. Just as her eyes turned to meet the Doctor's gaze, she caught him once again dunking his cup under the fountain.
"Did you already drink all of that?!" She hissed, slapping his shoulder as he chugged it. With a yelp, he nearly sent the drink flying all over himself.
"Oi! What was that for?!" The poor man asked, rubbing the shoulder Donna had just smacked.
"For being an alien-pig!" Shamelessly she scolded him. "I swear, I can't take you anywhere."
"You? Take me anywhere?" The Doctor repeated slowly, mouth slowly starting to gape open before he began his attempt to argue. "You know, that's kind of funny because last I checked-"
But before a real argument could ensue, a sudden wail of a microphone caused everyone in the room to jump in sync through their surprise.
"Welcome, everyone!" An old, withered voice echoed through the room. "I am Brendon Kiger, one of the founder's of Solid Gold Energy! And also, one of the few scientists who created the Auric Energy Source."
The Doctor set his cup lazily on the table beside the fountain, forcing Donna to put hers down as well before dragging her over to the group of people beginning to take their seats. Leading her to the first row, he chose the last two seats filled by a couple of young men before flashing them his psychic paper.
"Sorry, but I believe these are our prepaid seats," He claimed nonchalantly. With a bit of hesitance, the boys glanced at each other before getting up and attempting to find a couple other good seats.
Frowning, Donna watched them go before turning to the Doctor, "I don't know about you, but I feel kind of bad for that." Shrugging, he sat down and glued his attention to the stage.
"And, I am Herod Prince. The latest member to join the wonderful crew of Solid Gold Energy working on the Auric Energy Source," A man about Donna's age introduced himself. "Today, we are here to give a small presentation on our new, amazing product."
The older man stepped forward, and began talking as his hands waved in the air, "Our new product is not only efficient, but gorgeous. Instead of the boring wires, or even your wireless devices, you can show off the gorgeous gold hue that bolts through the clear wires specifically meant to display the beautiful colour."
"In just a moment, we will show you a large example of just how alluring the energy itself it," The young man once again took over speaking. "However, we figured that we should mention just how much the amount of energy you are about to see is capable of.
"Within this pipe-" He pointed to a long, clear cylinder about as wide as a human head that grew from the floor to the ceiling behind him on stage. "-there will soon be enough energy to power the whole of England. Every single home, every single facility, car, plane, and boat."
The audience seemed to gasp, and with a wide smirk the young man continued, "Now, finally we will show you the amazing product we have been able to produce."
Stepping aside, the whole crowd seemed to lean in to witness the raw, visible energy that would be passing through the clear tube. The Doctor himself tilted forward in his seat, confused beyond all means as he tried to imagine how the science behind it could work, even trying to remember if he had ever seen such a thing- suddenly, his brain seemed to malfunction.
A familiar, golden energy suddenly blasted through the tube and up into the ceiling. Everyone, including Donna, gasped in amazement as the light glimmered and danced. The Doctor's mouth fell open, and his brows rose.
"No," The Doctor began to panic. Already recognising the golden glow of the regeneration energy, he almost bolted from his seat and onto the stage before Donna grabbed his arm.
"Oh my god, it's gorgeous!" She gasped, not noticing the look on the Doctor's face.
He frowned, foot beginning to tap anxiously as his eyes stared down Donna, " I know." His eyes turned back to the raw energy he knew so well just as it disappeared. His whole face seemed to sink, and every breath he took appeared to be stunted. It was dawning on him that there was a slim possibility of another Time Lord. Fear, excitement, and dread coursed through his veins, and he shook the whole line of seats through his anxious hopping in his chair.
"Just the reaction we were hoping for!" Mr. Kiger exclaimed with a victorious laugh. "This is the absolute best energy source we have. Currently, our source is classified. However, the source has more hope of spurring on humanity's technological growth than any of the other ideas.
"From harnessing the sun's solar energy; harvesting lightning; using the Earth in geothermal energy; and even at one point using humankind itself to produce energy-" The man paused, a large grin that made the Doctor sick to the stomach stuck on his face. "None of it compares to what we can give to our planet!"
Finally, the Doctor grabbed Donna's hand and hauled her out of her chair. With a confused grumbling, she unhappily trotted behind him as she tried to keep up with him. Keeping her head down in an attempt to avoid peoples' stares, she stepped on his heel to catch his attention.
"Why are we leaving?" She asked, sulking as she glanced back at the stage.
Gritting his teeth, he stopped just beside a little red box, "That wasn't regular energy." He began, causing Donna's eyes to narrow.
"Then what was it?" She asked, watching as he whipped out his sonic screwdriver. For a moment, he paused to glance at her.
"It had to come from a living being," He tried to explain it vaguely, but knew he couldn't pass off being so upset without giving up the full reason. "More specifically- a living Time Lord."
Immediately, Donna gasped, "Oh my god." At her shock, the Doctor pressed a button on his screwdriver and set off the fire alarm. Grabbing Donna's hand, he turned around and bolted into the crowd of confused people who rushed out of the building quickly.
Squeezing by angry, confused people and keeping a tight grip on Donna, he reached the stage. The men talking earlier had disappeared, probably fled the building.
"To the back!" The Doctor hollered over the loud screech of the alarm. He and Donna broke into a run, bursting through the curtains and dodging workers as they leapt onto the stage.
Suddenly, the Doctor caught sight of an elevator opening up backstage. Out wheeled a large clear capsule. Inside, there was a young (h/c) woman who kicked around weakly as she was completely strapped inside. The metal that wrapped around her head, arms, legs, hips, and chest were tightly squeezing her. Wide, humiliated (e/c) eyes darted around wildly as she fought the cage she was trapped in.
Suddenly, her eyes connected with the Doctor's. Both of them seemed to freeze for just a moment, and she desperately tried to keep her eyes on him as the men pushing her pod forward ripped him from her view.
"Stop!" The Doctor rushed forward, grabbing one of the men's arms. "Stop right there!"
Donna immediately shoved herself right in the path of the pod, and put her hands on the glass, "Sweetheart, can you hear me? Are you alright?"
"Who the hell are you?!" One of the men asked, shoving the Doctor off of him. When the Doctor nearly fell, he stood up and immediately rushed back to grab onto the man again. Immediately, the man brought out pepper spray. The Doctor quickly took a step back, ready to roar.
Taking a deep breath, the Doctor gave him a glare, "I'm the man who's shutting all of this down."
A laugh echoed behind him, and a hand suddenly clasped his shoulder, "It's alright. She's not human, only looks like it." Herod tried to reassure. Immediately, the Doctor whipped around and aggressively threw his hand away from him.
"Exactly!" The Doctor growled. "She is a being from another world. One of the last of her species!"
With a roll of his eyes, Mr. Kiger stepped forward, "We treat her as if she were porcelain. There will be no harm to come to her-" The Doctor couldn't help it, for so long he had been against violence- yet in that moment he delivered a strong right hook that caused his hand to ache. Donna gasped and hollered something unintelligible at his action, she never expected to see that in her life. The struck man wailed as he crumpled to the ground, and an employee rushed forward to replace one of the guards holding the Time Lady's cell. The guard grabbed hold of the Doctor, muttering threats if he tried to get loose.
"Do you even know her name?" The Doctor asked, venom dripping from his words. With barely any effort he shrugged out of the guard's grip, who followed him warily as he walked around the glass so he could face the young woman. The girl's eyes seemed to light up upon seeing him, and his mouth dropped open for just a second. Taking his screwdriver, he scanned the glass. Glancing at it, he put an arm out to Donna and took a step back.
"Close your eyes," He warned to the girl. With no hesitance, she complied. Once her eyes were closed, he pressed a button and the glass shattered and crashed to the ground.
Once he could reach her, he turned to Donna, "Scold them or something." He gestured to the men who were either too shocked to step in, or were helping the bleeding man on the floor.
Then, he turned back around to the girl. Connecting eyes, he was glad to see just how relieved she appeared. With gentle hands, he reached forward and cupped her face. The guard behind him tried to reach out and seize him once again, but Donna quickly put a stop to it.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," She warned, stealing his pepper spray right from his own hand in a wave of bravery.
Both the Doctor and the girl closed their eyes, and immediately he began to search through her memories. A mutual understanding seemed to pass between the two: One at a time. So, she kept from his mind for the time being.
Quickly, the Doctor searched through her memories. He saw how they stole her energy, and grimaced at the screams he could hear echo from her memory. Then even further, he found how they had captured her.
She had just arrived on Earth in a different face, horribly wounded. Dragging herself over to a alley way as she whimpered, he watched as she regenerated. The blast of energy had drawn in locals who came running to get a peak, and the Doctor recognised the face of Brendon Kiger among those who appeared to gawk at the girl who just changed faces.
When she had collapsed to the ground, new (h/c) hair thrown across the pavement, Kiger raced forward and grabbed onto her. He fought with other people for the right to take her, and quickly hauled her into a car and drove off with her.
As he went further back into the girl's memories, he discovered she had only appeared on Earth after barely escaping the Time War. It hadn't been long for her since she had lost her planet- and as he quickly discovered she was so, so young to him. Only two hundred and thirty three years old. He couldn't imagine how it must have felt to be so young and loose all you have, just to be captured and turned into an experiment.
Suddenly, he could feel the girl spurring him on. She wanted him to keep going, and began to take control of showing him her memories. Soon he saw her place in the Time War: She was a hero. The girl before him had rescued thousands of Gallifreyan children. Even through all the strife, she continued to head back into the fire just to save another crying child and take them someplace safe. Before she was sent to Earth, she had jumped in front of two older boys to ensure their safety as they were about to be struck.
In payment, the boys and other children had taken her life into their own hands, and against her will sent her to Earth. Her kindness was repaid in full- but he could feel just how devastated she was to not have been able to protect them in the end. The Doctor could feel how it tore her apart as if it were her own fault.
Then, finally, she showed him her name: (Y/n). Nothing grand, simply a human name she had chosen.
Slowly, he retracted his hands. His eyes stared into her solemn, lost irises.
"It wasn't your fault," He told her quietly. Then, he used his sonic to release her. Slowly, (Y/n) stumbled out on shaky limbs, grabbing onto the Doctor. Quickly, he responded and steadied her. The guard also rushed forward to help stabilise her- and together they lowered her to the ground.
"What are you doing?!" Herod suddenly yelled, angrily shaking a fist as he helped Kiger to his feet. "Somebody stop him!"
However, a woman who had previously been helping his partner shook her head in disappointment, "This is just barbaric!"
In a moment, it seemed her words took full effect on anyone who had stopped to gawk at the almost fairy tale situation. One man even approached Herod with white knuckles and stuck a finger to his chest, scolding him with harsh words.
The Doctor watched it all go down, before he felt a soft hand pull at the collar of his jacket. Glancing back at (Y/n), he reached down to cup her head as it practically lolled around on her neck. He figured she had been in there so long, even the muscles in her neck had begun to deteriorate.
Her wide, (e/c) eyes stared up at him. Slowly measuring him, studying everything about him. Then, with hesitant fingers she began to reach up to touch his face. Even with his encouraging nod, she still froze a mere inch from his skin. So, he reached up and held her hand against his cheek.
Then he showed her his past. When he first started the telepathy link he worried how she would react. But he had quickly discovered she was different from all the other Time Lords. Even largely different from himself. The way she acted in general, and all her regenerations were almost strikingly human in his eyes.
Slowly, she softly picked through his mind. While her eyes were closed, he took the time to observe her face. When she stumbled upon something that interested her, her lips would pucker as she seemed to think about it. Connecting all the lines of who he was, she opened her eyes.
However the Doctor kept her hand firmly on his face. (Y/n) stared up at him, brows furrowed. She wasn't judging him for what he did- rather, she seemed curious and understanding. Finally, she let a relieved sigh pass through her lips and she curled herself against his chest and shut her eyes.
Even through Herod and Kiger's anguished screams and all the people who tried to get in his way, he shoved his way outside. He waited for Donna to catch up, who glanced up at the Doctor after observing the girl in his arms.
Giving him a knowing look, she laughed as he rolled his eyes. Then, her entire face softened.
"So," Donna began softly. "Are you going to tell me who she is?"
Gradually, a smile grew on the Doctor's face. Watching the grin that slowly overtook his face, she couldn't help a smile of her own to see him so happy.
"Special," He answered at first. "Strong, even. A hero."
"Well, you sure got lucky then," Donna commented, causing him to laugh. Then, she opened the TARDIS door for the Doctor, and he carefully carried the girl inside her new home.
(Once again, based off a dream. The Doctor really has to stop popping up in my dreams. It's getting creepy, dude. I’m sorry to replace your family with mine- but I didn’t know how to insert every single person’s family experiences into this dream.)

It was a rare occasion in (Y/n)'s life. The Doctor was going to simply drop her off with her family for a few days, then come to pick her up and continue on with their adventures.
However, (Y/n) managed to rope him into coming to talk with her parents. Her parents knew exactly who he was, and just how special he was to (Y/n). So with open arms, they accepted the Doctor into their home.
At first, it was a nice chat and a breakfast of egg sandwiches. But soon, the Doctor found himself being invited to (Y/n)'s grandmother's birthday. It wasn't going to be anything special. Except, perhaps, for the long car ride to make sure the great grandparents were involved in the celebration of their daughter's birthday.
The Doctor's first thought was to deny the request. After all, it was a private family event. However, he glanced back at (Y/n)'s mother's glittering eyes and then to the hesitant eyes of the girl beside him. Thinking over the situation, he realised he couldn't deny an invitation from his mate's parents.
"Alright," He agreed to go. "When do we leave?"
With a great smile, Mrs. (L/n) stood up and padded off her lap, "We'll be leaving within the next hour, actually."
Then, she turned to her daughter and informed her: "And, this may be the last chance you get to have a nice picture with your great grandparents. I want you to dress nice. And by that, I mean please wear a dress."
"Great," (Y/n) sarcastically groaned. The Doctor chuckled at her antics, and reached over to grab her hand and give it a squeeze. A moment later, he was conversing with her father about his job as the girl bolted up the stairs. Her mother began popping pans that had previously been covered by cloth into the oven, before also disappearing upstairs.
The minute both women were gone, (Y/n)'s father let out a groan, "Oh, I wish you hadn't come today. (Y/n) always brags about all your antics and adventures. This is going to be very dull, I'm afraid."
With warm eyes, the Doctor laughed, "As long as I don't have to worry about getting my ear chewed off I'll be alright."
Then, both men seemed to calm and a comfortable silence settled. The Doctor took the time to take in all the little details of his mate's original home. His eyes settled on everything that even had a hint of having interacted with his mate beforehand.
He loved being in this environment. A comfortable family home was always going to be his favourite- he just wished he had enough patience to settle down and build a home like this of his own.
Barely ten minutes before the oven began to beep, the Doctor caught the voices of his mate and her mother conversing upstairs before wandering down. Oh, his breath was stolen by his lover.
A conservative dress fit her nicely. It wasn't flashy, barely any pattern or skin showed. As she walked, the skirt raised slightly and seemed to tease him with a little hint of her thigh. Thinking about it, he had never seen her in a dress before. Or at least, not a dress like this.
Flashing him a grin, she followed her mother into the kitchen and began helping pack things up to go. Standing to help, the Doctor stepped forward and grabbed all the filled bags of freshly sliced fruit and turned to Mr. (L/n).
"Where do these go?" He asked, before the man stood and grabbed some bags of his own.
"This way," He mumbled, leading him out to the car in the drive way. (Y/n) rushed forward to open the door for them, teasingly slapping the Doctor's leg as he passed. He tried to smother his laugh, but his sore attempt made him sound more like a goose.
With a gleeful giggle, she followed after them when she had slipped on her shoes.
"Are we riding in that?" The Doctor asked with a frown as he and (Y/n) wandered a ways away from the car.
Not quite spotting the problem she asked, "Yes. Why?"
With a shrug of his shoulders, he mumbled, "I could just take us in the TARDIS. Definitely wouldn't take long to get there then."
Rolling her eyes, she wrapped her arms around one of his and dragged him over to the car, "Well, you haven't experience a nice, scenic car ride then."
"Scenic?" He questioned quietly, still hesitantly staring at the car.
"Yes," She grinned. "My great grandparents live out in the country. It's not too long a drive, however. Only about an hour and a half or so."
Immediately, he groaned, "An hour and a half? You could be doing so much more in all that time!"
Once again, she rolled her eyes at him. Giving him a kiss on the cheek, she then shoved him forward and almost tumbling into the car.
Quickly catching himself, he gave (Y/n) a playful glare and a shake of his head. With a chuckle, she walked around to the other side of the car as he began to buckle himself in.
"This-" He complained as she climbed in and sat down beside him. "-Is not comfortable." Grabbing his seatbelt, and pulled it forward he allowed it to slap against his chest with a slight wince.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Mrs. (L/n) apologised, having caught his complaint. "I forgot you're used to better-"
"No, no!" The Doctor jumped, afraid he had given her the wrong impression. "Everything is fine. Besides, (Y/n) was telling me there would be nice scenery on the way there."
With a hesitant nod, the mother dropped the topic. Then, (Y/n)'s father clambered into the drivers seat. Adjusting the mirror and wheel with a huff, he then put the car in reverse. Once out of the drive way, they were on the way.
The Doctor shuffled around uncomfortably in his seat. Noticing, (Y/n) sighed and reached over to grab his hand. Attention grabbed, he glanced at her. Sniffling, he mimicked her sigh and attempted to scoot a little closer to her. Seeming unsatisfied with the amount of space between them, he bent down and gingerly grabbed one of her legs to rest it in his lap.
"Well okay then," (Y/n) laughed. He gave her a cheeky grin, running his hand up down her leg.
The Doctor did have to admit, the view from the trip was gorgeous. And, he had the pleasure of also watching (Y/n) fall asleep. Her whole body shook with each bump, and for some odd reason he found it entertaining to watch her unconsciously shift around her seat.
They arrived faster than he would have imagined, and parked on a driveway made of gravel. With a mischievous smirk, he slapped (Y/n)'s calve. She yelped and jumped awake, before giving the Doctor an unhappy glare before sliding her leg off his lap.
Just outside a little, comfortable home stood a giant oak tree. Its branches seemed to crazily take off into the air as if they were caught in an explosion. The Doctor observed it intensely, even forgetting to help his mate's parents after exiting the vehicle who were unloading their car.
Noticing his stare, (Y/n) walked up behind him and slid her palm into his, "How old do you think it is?" She questioned. Glancing at her, then carefully checking his surroundings, he pulled out his sonic screwdriver and quickly scanned the tree.
"Around two hundred and fifty years old," He stated with a cheeky smirk. She chuckled, gaze glued to the tree. Suddenly, her brows rose and she glanced at the Doctor with a hopeful and slightly mischievous grin.
"You know," She began. "I would definitely like to see this tree as a sapling."
With a small chuckle and a roll of his eyes, he mumbled, "Of course you would."
Then, an elderly woman with a face resembling (Y/n)'s approached the two, "Good morning."
With a nod of his head, he gave her a warm smile, "It is." The woman glanced between the two of them, catching sight of their entwined hands.
"The Doctor, I presume?" She asked happily. "I have been wanting to meet you for quite some time."
"Well, it's an honour to hear that," He replied, reaching out to shake her hand with a large smile. "And you must be the lovely Grandma?"
With a chuckle, the woman nodded. Before she could continue to (as the Doctor guessed) herd the two of them inside, he grinned and wished her a very merry birthday.
Then, he allowed the woman to usher the two into the house. After introductions, noon passed quickly before the food was served. Upon noticing the time, Mrs. (Y/n) stood with a screech.
"The food!" She cried. "We've talked past the prime lunch hour!"
Everyone shared a nice laugh afterwards. The food was quickly served, and very quickly devoured. It was delicious, and the Doctor was honestly surprised by that fact.
After eating, everyone seemed to slow down and enjoy a bit of silence. A warm, friendly environment was always nice, and a full stomach always makes it even better. The Doctor cuddled up to (Y/n) on the couch, listening to her whimpers as her Grandma told as many embarrassing childhood stories as her mind could recall.
Slowly, the conversation however shifted to all the family members. (Y/n) yawned and sat up in an attempt to keep herself awake. However, no matter how hard she tried her eyelids seemed to be just a little too heavy. Plus, she wasn't catching a word of the conversation going on between her own family members. Instead, she nodded along as if she was intently listening.
The Doctor kept his eyes glued to her tired form, and chuckled as he mentally called her out on her own tricks. He watched as her head began to bob up and down. Catching herself as she tried to stay awake. Her heavy eyelids flickered up and down wearily, more often than not remaining closed for a few seconds.
With a gentle smile, he reached forward and softly grabbed the back of her head, pushing her towards him. Then, he left a kiss on the top of her head and ruffled her hair. Hearing her small groan of complaint, he couldn't help but allow his grin to stretch over the rest of his face.
Everything was so comfortable, so perfect. It hadn't even reached evening hours, only the mere afternoon yet everyone seemed to be satisfied. Their day had been fulfilled, even though it wasn't finished.
The Doctor made a note to himself: He would have to take (Y/n) to come visit her family more often. The Time Lord would never get enough of the friendly environment.
Somehow, someway, the Doctor had done it again. He had managed to launch himself into an alternate universe. At first, he had hurdled himself out the door expecting to find Rose's world. After he had dragged his companion, (Y/n) (L/n), around the city he was quickly disappointed. It hadn't taken him long to discover that it just wasn't the right world.
However, just as he sighed and plopped himself down on a bench, he was met with a startling sight. Across the road, a version of (Y/n) was dragging himself along as they ran. From head to toe her clothes were either odd or colourful, practically screaming she had some spunk. She screamed out ideas to the version of himself, who seemed to nod along vigorously despite not knowing anything she had just yelled. Now the version of himself across the street was dressed plainly, boring, if the Doctor did say so himself. Nearly, like an average human.
"-then, after that we can go to the planet of Azul! They speak Spanish there! I bet you never thought a whole different planet spoke an "Earth" language, ay-?!" He heard the other (Y/n) yell excitedly. She held herself more confidently than he had ever seen before. Just as he stood up, eyes wide as they met the strange, self-assured version of his companion- the original, shy girl reached out to grab and pull his sleeve.
"Doctor!" She hissed, seeming both shocked and intimidated by the (e/c) eyed duplicate across the street. They watched as the new (Y/n)'s face lit up, her eyes shining as she waved.
Suddenly, she froze in place. Her eyes observed the two, glanced back at the duplicate of the Doctor and then in a flash ran across a busy road. She earned a screech of horror from the new, boring Doctor, who bolted after her hollering about how dangerous it was to run across the road like that.
But, the minute the strange (Y/n) reached the other side of the road, she glanced at "herself" with a grin, before pulling out what seemed to be a (f/c) version of the Doctor's screwdriver and scanned the both of them.
"Alright," She began, just as the Doctor whipped out his own screwdriver and held it out slightly for comparison. "I want to know how you crossed into a different universe, mister."
With a raised brow, the Doctor began to say, "Well, it was an accident-" But was cut off by the alternate version of himself.
"Blimey! He's me!" The man yelled, reaching over to grab the new (Y/n)'s shoulder in shock. Just behind the Doctor, he felt his own (Y/n) grab onto his coat with both hands and seem to hide herself away behind him.
"Yup!" New-(Y/n) yelled with a hoot. "And, I think it's even more than that! These two are us- but I think we switched places!" She explained to her companion.
"Oi!" The Doctor quipped. "You better leave me some explaining to do. I like doing the explaining."
With a dramatic roll of her eyes and an exaggerated sigh, she replied, "Well, this ought to be interesting..."
"Me, interesting?! What about you?" He began to argue with a frown. "In my universe, you can't even open a can without my help!"
Immediately, he felt a harsh hit to the back of his head and flinched as the real- (Y/n) protested, "Hey! Watch it, alien man!"
"Alien man?" The new-Doctor breathed, eyes still wide. The true Doctor's frown deepened, and he groaned. With an immediate, nearly pitiful glance to the plain version of himself, his posture fell.
"Oh, Lord," He complained with a whine. "Please don't tell me I'm a pudding-brain in this line."
With a bark of laughter from both the (Y/n)'s, the new one stuck her hand out and introduced herself, "Well, hello. My name is the Doctor and I like your face." She turned to watch her companion's face morph from confusion to a pleased, flustered grin.
"Thank you," He replied, doe eyes glued to the (Y/n)-Doctor.
"Oi, no," Once again the Doctor complained. "Your name should be (Y/n). That's obvious."
With a raised brow, (Y/n)-Doctor was quick to protest, "And you should be David, am I right?"
With the shake of his head, she rolled her eyes, "Dear God, if we have the same name this is going to get confusing real fast."
"It already is," Both real-(Y/n) and "David" replied. Honestly, the Doctor didn't see himself as a David. No where near, in fact. If anything, he found himself as more of a Frank. Oh, he liked that name, Frank.
"We need code names," The true Doctor announced. "These two can keep their names- 'David'-" He grimaced at the sound of it.
"And (Y/n)," He finished. "But, you and I need something else. I'll go by John Smith."
With a cock of her head, (Y/n)-Doctor pursed her lips, "Why not just go by John, then?"
With a groan, the Doctor rolled his eyes, "I thought that was implied."
"Well, it wasn't," The (Y/n)-Doctor replied. "And, I'll just go by Susan."
The Doctor cocked a brow and frowned, looking her up and down, "You look nothing like her." With a scoff, "Susan" rolled her eyes and began to walk off.
"Whatever, John," Susan scoffed.
With that, Susan glanced around before launching herself in a random direction. David hastily followed after her, very nearly stumbling over his own feet. The Doctor watched them go, before he felt a gentle tug on the collar of his coat. Raising his brows, he turned around to glance at (Y/n).
Almost immediately, he could feel his gaze soften as he was met with soft, worried (e/c) eyes. Not even allowing himself a sigh of affection, worried it may scare her off, he took her hands in his and lightly rubbed them together.
"Are you worried?" He asked tenderly, eyes never leaving her face, although her gaze seemed to drop to the floor.
Hesitating, (Y/n) meekly replied, "About what?"
A soft snort and an eye roll later, the Doctor explained, "This new version of you. She intimidates you. But that's all she is to me- a version of you. And, if I do say so myself, I quite prefer the original."
For a moment she mulled over what he said, and he patiently waited for her reply. Then, her eyes fluttered up to meet his with a small but warm smile.
"That 'David' guy," (Y/n) began, a bit of confidence in her voice, "He's pretty handsome."
The Doctor's face immediately burst into a wide, eye-wrinkling grin, rolling back on his heels and chuckling, "Oh is he now?"
Gently swaying to the tunes, (Y/n) slowly waltzed herself across the room. One foot after the other, a gentle smile grew across her face. Sometimes, she would gracefully lift her arms up into the air with a little twirl and twinkle of the eye. Or, she would even tightly hug herself around the middle, slowly turning on the balls of her feet. She had never felt so graceful as her favourite, peaceful song quietly drifted out of her room and into the hallway.
The Doctor never would have noticed if he hadn't had the luck of passing by in that exact moment. He had meant to rush past, get to the kitchen and snag a snack before returning to the library. He even managed to run straight past the sweet melody twice- once empty handed and another with an apple tight in his grip.
At least, the second time, he did hear it. It just took a moment before his curiosity was peaked. Without even faltering in his strange, mad dash he turned on his heel and returned to the source of the graceful tunes.
Listening carefully now, he could hear a gentle humming. Gingerly, he pressed a hand to the door in front of him, causing it to slide open with ease. His eyes immediately filled with warmth upon seeing his companion daintily spin across the room. Her hands were out in the air, a happy smile upon her face as her feet carried her forward. Suddenly, an amused giggle left her mouth as she nearly tripped and fell over her own feet. Stumbling, she barely managed to catch herself before straightening up.
Running a hand through her hair, gently scratching her head she turned towards the doorway. For just a second, the delighted smile upon her face fell for a sheepish frown of embarrassment. But, not even a second later, (Y/n)- oh, the amazing (Y/n)- allowed herself to laugh at her own playful antics.
"Sorry," She apologised. "Did I leave the door open?"
"No, not at all," The Doctor was quick to reply, a bright grin upon his face. "And there's no reason to be sorry."
Tilting her head at him, she tucked her hands behind her back, "Well, if I didn't leave the door open, that must make you some sort of creeper."
"Oi, now I'm offended!" The Doctor laughed, tucking his hands in his pockets and swaying on his feet. The apple from before made a strange looking lump in his pants, forcing (Y/n) to smother a smug sneer. It may have taken her a moment, but her eyes soon met his again, and in almost a split second she seemed to jump forward in excitement.
Beaming, (Y/n) suddenly launched herself towards him, grabbing him by the hand and tugging him into her room. His fingers comfortably laced with hers as he let her lead him towards her dresser. Peaking over her shoulder as she came to a halt, he watched fondly as she unlocked her phone and began to scroll through her music.
"I'll let you pick a song," She began, turning her gaze to his as her eyes flickered between his. "But, you have to dance with me."
The Doctor already knew he couldn't say no- but the urge inside of him to play around with her was too strong to ignore. So, for a moment, he left her waiting for his reply. He pursed his lips, letting his head flop to the side slightly, raising a brow at her. Her own brows furrowed as she waited for a reply, giving his hand a slight squeeze.
The minute he began to straighten up, her eyes seemed to light up with joy. The Doctor couldn't help himself as he chuckled, leaning down to press a chaste kiss to the top of her head.
"You have yourself a deal," He grinned, bending over her to scroll through her music selection.
(A.N. What song do you think the Doctor would choose on your phone?)
When fear consumes someone, it feasts and gorges itself. Rips into the flesh with claw and fang, and creates a wretched, bloody mess.
The Master grabbed (Y/n)'s wrist with a cruel grasp, shoving and pulling at her limbs as he screamed in rage. Her fingers curled around his as she tried to yank herself free, tears streaming down her face and sobs wracking her body. Fear and adrenaline coursed through her veins, but it wasn't enough to protect her.
All she knew as the Master grabbed her other wrist and brutally yanked her away from the safety of the TARDIS- was that she was terrified. He practically threw her into a desk, several sickening cracks filling the room before her head slammed into the floor with a nauseating snap.
Holding her head, she scrambled to get away from him, trembling as another whimper left her body. Instinctively, her shaking hand reached down and grasped her watch before clasping it to her chest with both hands, right above her single, beating heart.
"Why would you want to stay so weak?" The Master howled with rage, causing her to back herself up against a desk, cornered. "Look at yourself! You're bleeding all over the floor!"
"Because- I don't- I-" She stuttered and sobbed, face red and beginning to bruise. "I don't want to be a Time Lord. Ever. Please-"
With a roll of his jaw, he reached down with a wrinkled, old hand and gripped her by her hair as he hissed, "Then you're a fool!"
Suddenly, a loud banging at the door stole his attention. Dragging (Y/n)'s atrocious, beaten figure with him in his grip as he turned to look, a snarl left his lips. (Y/n) gasped and shuttered as she recognised the Doctor beating at the door, frantically.
"Professor! Professor! Professor let me in!" He frantically yelled. "Jack get the door open, now!"
"Open the watch!" The Master demanded, throwing (Y/n) onto the ground. "Open it! Open it now!"
The Doctor began trying to scream over him, just outside the door but seeming so far away.
"Open the watch, now!" Reaching down, the Master grabbed her shoulder only to slam it back into the ground.
Her cry of pain immediately caused the Doctor to begin to panic, and she heard him yelling, "You leave her alone! Professor, please! Leave her alone! We can talk about this-"
(Y/n) didn't get to listen to the rest of his plead, before she found herself weakly trying to fight the Master for the watch that contained all she was as a Time Lord. Everything that she never wanted to be.
"Please!" She wailed desperately, kicking her feet around and even attempting to bite him. "I don't want to change! I don't want to be a Time Lord!" His hands were rough as he grabbed her by the arms, squeezing and causing her to whimper and her bottom lip to shake in fear and pain.
"She's so young! Don't do this to her! Professor!" The Doctor bellowed out to the Master, panicking as he tried to open the door. "Jack! Jack, hurry!"
The sound of Martha's scream distracted (Y/n), and just one glance away caused her to be slapped to the ground. A harsh hit to the head sent her reeling even worse than before, halting her sobs even as her tears continued to flow. Without a second thought, the Master gripped her watch in his hand. He cradled it gently, bringing it up to his face, victory written on every inch of his face. All (Y/n) could do was tremble and writhe on the ground as she watched.
Then, the Master opened (Y/n)'s watch. The bright, golden light that filled the room caused the Doctor's hearts to stop and he began to scream and bang against the door harsher then before. Seconds later, he heard (Y/n)'s yells and wretched, horrible howls of pain which caused him to shake his head and shutter. He could imagine her writhing on the ground in pain, clutching her chest as her entire DNA changed- gripping her head as her mind was endlessly filled with new information and feelings. The thought made him sick, he was barely able to hold back the bile that rose up his throat.
(Y/n)'s new body, her original, Time Lord form was put straight into a healing coma through the Master's harsh beatings. He knew he had to do it fast- before her body could begin to take in the change. So, he struck her over the head and straight to the mouth. Stomped on her chest and attempted to break as many bones as possible without killing her or causing her to regenerate.
Almost immediately after, the Master set to work preparing the TARDIS to leave. He fixed everything to his liking- before gathering (Y/n)'s unconscious body up in his arms and carrying into the TARDIS. A grimace of disgust crossed his face as he laid her on the TARDIS floor, and he ignored the hopeless whines of the machine as blood dripped through her grated floor and onto her wires.
"Please, Professor! Please listen to me!" The Doctor continued to holler, at this point low on all hope. "Open the door! Please!"
But before the Master could finish his work, Chantho halted him as best she could. A shot from the blaster she had threatened him with earlier was all she could give, before going limp and dying. Her last moment was spent attempting to destroy the man that she adored so much. The man that also betrayed her.
His exclamation of pain was barely heard by the Doctor, but finally he busted into the room. Martha and Jack were just behind him as he bolted. Connecting eyes with the Master, before glancing past him to see the bloody, beaten figure of the girl he loved.
Running forward in an attempt to both get to her and the TARDIS, he failed as the Master quickly locked him out. Once again his hearts lowered in his chest at the sound of his beautiful time machine whining as she cried out for him.
Trying to bust in was no use, but he tried anyway, failing before attempting to sonic his way in.
"And locked," The Master muttered, an almost victorious yet pained smile on his withered face.
Seeming almost wounded, the Doctor cried, "Let me in!"
Suddenly, he seemed to break as he banged on the doors and screeched again, "Let me in!"
He backed up, panting barely noticing as Martha attempted to get his attention, "She's dead." She stated weakly, hovering over Chantho's body. But glancing around, her brows raised.
"She's not bleeding though- She's not bleeding anywhere. Where did all of this come from?" She questioned, standing just as Jack called for her help.
"I broke the lock! Give me a hand!" He grunted, smashing his body against the door to close it and keep the Futurekind from getting in. Unfortunately, he understood he was going to get no where with the Doctor. The man understood that he was stressed, and was going to have trouble trying to solve this whole mess. So instead, he looked to Martha for aid.
"I'm begging you- Everything's changed!" The Doctor continued yelling, attempting to plead with the Master. "It's only the three of us now! We're the only ones left! Just let me in!" Martha had already rushed over to Jack, and was attempting to help him shove the door closed as she grit her teeth.
"Killed by an insect!" The Master seethed, gripping onto the TARDIS console as sweat dripped down his face. "A girl. How inappropriate!
"Still!" He continued to himself. "If the Doctor can be young- and strong- then so can I!" Retracting his grip from the console, he turned and stood tall.
"The Master," He paused, rolling the next word on his tongue. "Reborn."
The familiar, yet different golden light filled the room as it blasted from the Master's form. His face, his whole body seemed to retract in age. Then, it began to completely change. Screaming as everything in his body changed, his whole messed up head getting a whole new personality.
The Doctor didn't know what to feel in that moment, or what to think. His face scrunched up, and he slowly backed away from the golden light.
Just then, the Futurekind finally arrived and ran like maniacs to the door that was still slightly ajar. Martha screamed and adrenaline pulsed through her, and together with Jack they were only able to shove it a little closer to being closed before the Futurekind began to shove themselves in the opening.
"Doctor!" Jack bellowed in fear. "You better think of something!"
However, the Doctor continued to stand before the TARDIS- his TARDIS as he breathed heavily. Eyes wide and panicked, his breathes were getting deeper by the minute. Then, he could hear rustling inside.
The Master stood to his feet, whipping around as he observed the TARDIS with new eyes. Then, he let out a victorious laugh and howl and hopped, running a full circle around the console as he checked it all out. Then, he pressed a button and grinned.
"Now then!" He exclaimed, sounding shockingly young. "Doctor-! Oooh! New voice!" The Doctor's breaths picked up, the poor man was feeling as though he was going to have a heart attack. And the whole while, he was imagining how he was going to explain to the Master that he destroyed their race. Their whole home planet was gone, it was his fault. Now, he was going to have to explain it. And this time, (Y/n) would be a Time Lord. He never met her before she was human, and he found himself terrified of what she could be.
"Hello, hello!" The Master tested his new voice, going deeper and higher at will. "Hello-! Anyway- Why don't we stop and have a nice little chat while I tell you all my plans and you can work out a way to stop me?
"I don't think!" The Master stated cockily.
Suddenly, Martha was drawn away slightly and distracted, "Oh god- I know that voice!" Suddenly, she was screaming again as she allowed the Futurekind to begin to once again shove their way into the room. Quickly, she slapped at the hands that reached for her and shrieked.
"I'm asking you really properly!" The Doctor begged, eyes wide and nearly hopeless. "Just stop! Just think!"
"Use my name," His adversary commanded calmly.
Without a lick of hesitation, the Doctor muttered, "Master. I'm sorry." For a second, his hope had begun to build. However it was quickly crushed once again as he heard the Master shout.
"Tough!" The Doctor could hear the levers he loved and buttons he adored be pressed and pulled, and imagined the blood of his love dripping through the floor of the TARDIS. In a last ditch attempt, he spurred into action. Lifting his sonic, it raised under his command and he locked the coordinates between the last place he had visited and the time they were standing in. For a moment, he felt rage- pure, unadulterated rage. It spilled over, showing on his very face
The TARDIS console sparked and smoke began to fill the air, "Oh no you don't!" The Master cried, jumping to press another lever. Finding himself successful, he jumped again and faced the direction of the TARDIS doors.
"End of the universe! Have fun! Bye, bye!" He hollered almost playfully, enjoying Martha's screams as if it were music to his ears.
"Stop him!" She screeched, as if she believed her cry would kick the Doctor into some sort of new action. However, the TARDIS began to dematerialise, and the familiar pant of the machine seemed to fill her with dread. Then, her attention was pulled as Jack's eyes went wide with effort as he strained to help her close the door.
The Doctor watched his TARDIS go, appearing strong in stance but panicked in face. In mind, however, he was shrivelling away with worry. The love of and only constant in his life had just been stolen from him, all in the blink of an eye.
This is not intended to have a second part. The ending is up to the reader.
The Doctor had simply been walking by when he heard the gentle sobs that stopped him in his tracks. He whipped around, shoving his glasses farther up his face as he tried to find the source. Locating it, he slowly approached a young girl with (h/c) hair curled up in a ball.
For a second, he thought over the situation. All the children had been dismissed, and most had gone home save for club members and the kids in detention. The girl shuttered again with another soft sob, and he glanced at her back taking note of the knapsack she wore and the lunch box sitting beside her.
"Hello," He suddenly spoke, startling the poor lamb out of her skin.
Immediately, he offered her a hand and helped pull her to her feet as he apologised, "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you." She nodded, teary (e/c) eyes glancing from him to the ground timidly.
"It's alright, sir," She whispered. "I'll be off, sir."
Her formal words caught him off guard, and she nearly got away from him before he whirled around and gently caught her by the arm to hold her in place.
"Wait, why were you crying?" His voice dropped an octave, and he stood up as he released her. The girl took a couple hesitant steps forward as if she meant to leave him where he stood. Quietly, he heard her sniffle before she turned around.
"I'm sorry, sir. It's a bit private," She shuffled about on her feet, never lifting her eyes to his. However, she very nearly glanced up at his playful scoff.
"Private shmivate," He began. "If there's a problem, then I can fix it. And if I can fix it, well whats the point of keeping it private?"
The girl remained silent, but her stuffy nose didn't seem to effect her any longer. Figuring he had her attention, he decided to carry on.
"What's your name?" He asked gently, and patiently waited for her answer.
"(Y/n), sir," The girl reached up to awkwardly play with her hair. The Doctor couldn't quite pin point it, but something about her timid behaviour brought a small smile to his face.
"Well, (Y/n), it's a pleasure to meet you," He grinned. "My name is the Docto- Mr. Smith. I'm Mr. Smith. And there is no reason to call me 'sir,' ma'am."
At his article her gaze raised to meet his, and her (e/c) eyes sparked with confusion and curiosity, "What?"
A small smile met her gaze, and he raised his eyebrows as he proved his point, "Yeah, see? You don't like being addressed formally anymore than I do."
When his ears were met with a small giggle, his grin grew. She seemed to be relaxing, eyes studying him intensely. He let her carry on her little scan, before he decided his investigation should continue.
"Now," He stated. "You still haven't told me what made you cry."
Her gaze faltered, and her hands drifted back up to mess and play with her hair again.
"Go on then," He encouraged her. Once again, the girl's gaze fell to the ground.
(Y/n) sniffled once again, before she muttered, "The other kids are smarter than I am." The Doctor's eyebrows furrowed, and he gently put a hand to her shoulder.
His hand rubbed her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her as he asked, "What makes you think that?"
Almost immediately, the poor little thing burst into tears, "My fr-friends! And my parents- they keep telling me, sir- and I can't-"
The Doctor pulled her into a loose hug, letting her go before he scoffed, "Silly children, silly adults." Quickly though, a question popped into his head.
"Have you eaten the lunch?" He asked her, squatting down to her height.
"No sir, I'm allergic so I pack my own, sir," She sniffled, reaching up to rub her eyes as she used her other hand to show him her lunch box. The little girl looked up at him, ready to ask why he wanted to know such a thing, but he quickly cut in before she could.
"Well, I think you're very clever," He began, rubbing one of her shoulders to comfort her before leaning in to whisper in her ear. "All the other children are cheating. Youre the only one doing things right. Take pride in doing the right thing, (Y/n)."
With that, he pulled away to grin at her before giving her a little hug and standing back up.
"Now, how about we go find those silly adults of yours, yeah?" (Y/n) didn't look so sure about that, which caused the Doctor to frown before he decided to say, "And, I'm going to tell them just how brilliant you are. Then, I'm going to bust the other kids for cheating. You will be able to show them just how spectacularly clever you are. Rub it in their faces, but only for a little bit. Then you've got to learn to be humble, so you can make yourself some right good friends, yeah?"
Her (e/c) wide eyes seemed to be lost, but in a moment she processed what he had said and a light grin spread across her face, "Okay, sir."
The next time the Doctor stumbled upon little (Y/n), her face burst into a grin. He had walked about the halls, specifically trying to track down the little lamb after he had solved the problem with the Krillitanes.
She ran up to him with a bright old grin and practically shouted, "Thank you so much, Mr. Smith!" She launched herself into his embrace, causing him to laugh with glee.
"Ah, it was no problem. A joy, really!" He chuckled, picking her up and spinning her around before dropping her to her feet. Her beautiful grin seemed to be contagious, and he just couldn't stop smiling as she watched him with admiration.
Suddenly, her face dropped down, and she pursed her lips. Inside her eyes, he could just see the curiosity shining through a pretty (e/c) hue.
"Mr. Smith, sir, may I ask you a question?" She asked, reaching out to grab his arm, ensuring he would stay where he was.
"Of course!" He exclaimed, and immediately she turned on her heel and dragged him down the hall. She found an empty classroom and tugged him inside, shutting the door and ducking below the glass as she watched people pass by. The Doctor chuckled at her 'sneaky' behaviour, and she whipped around with wide eyes.
"Mr. Smith, sir I promise I won't tell anyone- but when you told me your name you stumbled. Like you were going to say something else, what was it?" Oh, he could feel the magnificent grin that grew over his face.
"Oh, you special child," He complimented. "I bet you've been thinking over this for awhile now, am I right?"
Her quick nod and gaping mouth spurred him on with ease, "My name isn't Mr. Smith, and I don't like being called sir. However, you can call me the Doctor any day." As his sentence finished, he was graced with a brilliant smile filled with glee and wonder.
"The Doctor?" She tested, her grin growing by the second. "Are you the original doctor? The very first?"
He threw his head back in a laugh, and sniffed as he turned his proud gaze on her again, "Very well might be."
(Y/n) jumped in excitement, laughing with joy, "Are you an angel?" She questioned further, stopping to await his answer, scared she might miss it.
Once again, his chuckle echoed through the room, "No, no. I'm a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey." He pulled over a chair, and she quickly mimicked him, tripping over the very chair she had dragged over in front of him.
The Doctor was always astonished when it came to children. They always seemed to amaze him, and he never got over how unbelievably excitable and trusting they were. So, as (Y/n) nestled herself into her chair curled up into a ball, he began telling her stories of all his adventures. All the planets he had traveled to, and all the stars he knew by name.
Even through the school bells ringing, she stayed and listened intently, face dropping at anything worth a frown, jumping whenever he got to the good scary part, and grinning or squealing with joy when he finally won in the end. Hours, she merely fidgeted in her seat, switching from the floor to her chair whichever was comfortable as long as she could listen to him.
When he finished, her face dropped because she wouldn't hear anymore, but a second later she grew the most brilliant grin and flew out of her seat to give him a tight hug as he chuckled.
"One day, I could take you with me, once you're old enough," He decided to finish. "I could take you through the universe. But until then, you keep trying your best. And one day, I'll come back for you. I can't tell you when, and I might look a little different, but I will come back."
So, he lead her out the room, and she always did her best.
