Tips for Incoming Freshman!
Since I was recently talking to upcoming freshman in a Q&A session and I am going to be helping at a orientation, these are some tips I have!
Go to orientation! For my school we got our schedules, heard from the principal and then took a tour led by students! This is super helpful and you should really take advantage of this time. Ask questions and talk to current high schoolers!
Go to your school during the summer and locate your locker! Knowing where your locker is and even bringing some of your supplies there is great when your nervous for your first day.
While you’re there, walk through your schedule! It might feel a little silly but you will be super greatful when you know where to go the first day
Get a neutral color backpack that is cute and comfortable! This sounds a little weird but if you have a bright pink backpack with a green shirt sometimes it can be a little crazy looking. Also you’re going to be carrying a lot of supplies so the more comfortable it is the better!
Don’t go crazy on supplies! In high school some teachers will ask for a binder but it’s not really needed so get the basics and if you need more then you can go out and buy it- it’ll save you money and a back ache trying to carry everything.
Join as many things as you can! Do sports, clubs, the musical! This is great for finding new friends and also building a really great resume! High school is a great time to try things and find your interests so doing everything you can will really help you!!
Don’t let friendships define you! This is hard but a lot of people change in high school and if your friends are doing things you don’t support, don’t let yourself be associated with it.
Become friends with your teachers! Whether it is being comfortable asking questions or asking for an extension, being friendly with teachers is really helpful!
Become independent! In high school, try to stop relying on your parents for everything. You need to create a schedule and know where you need to be and when! Also know teachers won’t tell you to get help but will help you!
Bring your own lunch! This is really great because you can control your health and depending on what you pack, you can stay healthy!
Have an agenda or a calendar! Be on top of everything! I use google calendars, an app called plan, reminds, and a physical agenda- that sounds like a lot but it is super helpful!
Freshman year is a huge change but as long as you make the most of it while staying on top of it, you will be successful! Good luck to everyone going into Freshman year!
Konmari Update!
Hello Study Buddies!! I really wanted to update everyone on how the konmari method worked for me/ working for me.
First off, I am so happy I decided to do this on a day I had nothing planned because it took me a whole day and it has carried into today! I was able to donate over 2 large garbage bags to goodwill and I am so happy about it! Another thing I am happy I decided to do is with all of the clothes I currently have I have been doing large amount of laundry. That may seem a little crazy but since all of my clothes were already on the floor and I would need to clean them anyway then I thought cleaning them would be really refreshing. I really want to share things like my desk/closet/room and I am happy that I am deeply organizing all of it before school starts back up!
I have a lot more studyblr and life things to come so please follow me to know when I post it!!
PS Thank you so much for all of the reblogs and likes on my last post it has been crazy with the amount of people who left notes!
Grew up, but still the same
