Dear Void,
People have all sorts of odd ways to display affection. Perhaps closing oneself off from the person most interesting to us in order to hide that interest at all costs is not the most effective approach.
In self-doubt, one begins to see flaws. Yet infatuation makes its origins foolish, not blind to flaws, but rather purposely ignorant of such. Fools often get hurt. A fool would try a relationship where there is longing for someone else, risking acceptance as temporary distraction. However, fools are the only ones that dare to dream and change tells us that success is possible. So thoughtful fools remain in conflict, and most likely, let another opportunity pass them by.
Sincerely,
Woe
