Partisan Defense Committee Holiday Appeal for Class-War Prisoners
District Council 1707 Auditorium 420 West 45th St
The PDC Holiday Appeals raise funds for its program of monthly stipends and publicize the cases of class-war prisoners. The PDC currently sends stipends to 12 class-war prisoners, those imprisoned for standing up against racist capitalist repression and imperialist depredation. Among them are: the former Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal, who is fighting for lifesaving medication for hepatitis C that nearly killed him last year; Leonard Peltier—imprisoned for his activism as a spokesman for the American Indian Movement; seven MOVE members in their 39th year of imprisonment after they were railroaded following the 1978 police attack on their Philadelphia home; and Black Panther supporter Ed Poindexter, who has spent more than 45 years in prison after being framed up for a 1970 explosion that killed a cop.
We call on opponents of racist repression, members of the labor movement and students to join us in honoring King, Woodfox and all the class-war prisoners on Friday, December 2, 2016, from 6-9:30pm at District Council 1707 Auditorium, 420 West 45th Street, New York, NY.
