12/12/12 (part II)

Thank you @writing-with-melon for tagging me! Since I was tagged a second time, I’ll be doing a different character. This time It’ll be Eliza Jacobs from my western Sisterhood of Blood. I’m only tagging 6 people since I’ve been tagged twice.

Answers, questions and tags below 

1. What do you love the most about your world?

“My world? You mean Daughtry? It’s a nice little town... or it was. Henry - he was my husband - thought it would be the perfect town to start a ranch of our own. Raise some babies...” Eliza’s words trail off and she shakes her head.

2. Who is your best friend?

“Oh, I haven’t had one of those since I was a kid. Do adults really have ‘best friends’..? Ms. Lucinda and Ruth are nice women, but they don’t know everything about me or nothin’.”

3. Tell us about a dream you had?

“Once dreamed I turned into a bird and soared over the town. I don’t remember why, but I woke up crying the next morning. Maybe I got some dust in my eye.”

4. What did you want to be when you were younger?

Eliza half smiles and gives a shrug. “I wanted to magically turn into a horse one day when I was really little. But... If I had to choose something now, I would have loved to be a doctor who worked on animals.”

5. What is your greatest regret?

Rubbing her arm, Eliza holds her head up high. “I don’t regret much in my life. I’ve lived an honorable life...” Her gaze shifts towards Rosalind. “Well... Maybe you could say I ‘regret’ one thing. But that’s a story for another day.”

6. Do you have any pets?

“Henry and I had a half dozen mustangs that we were going to use to start our ranch.” Eliza grits her teeth. “Until that bastard Caldwell came to town.”

7. Who are you crushing on?

Color blooms in Eliza’s cheeks and she crosses her arms over her chest in defiance. “What a rude question to ask a woman who just buried her husband a month ago. There’s no one! I’m perfectly content alone!” 

8. What is your morning routine?

“I wake up before the sun, make sure my little Clementine is cleaned up and well fed. I used to have to check on the chickens and horses, but we don’t have them anymore. After I clean house, we go to town and see what needs fixin’. Us ladies are rebuilding the schoolhouse since Caldwell’s men tore it down.”

9. How do you feel about your family?

“Clementine is just about all I have left. I’d take a bullet for her in a heartbeat. I will make a life for us. I will make sure she grows up properly. I have to.”

10. Do you like music? If yes, what kind? If no, why not?

“Music? Like the hymns we sing in church? They’re alright. Nothing beats Ruth’s piano, though. Her music is a lot more upbeat - makes life seem a little less blue.”

11. What is your favorite food?

“If I could choose anything to eat right now... oh, I would have a full feast. But to choose just one... a can of peaches. Maybe a sprinkle of cinnamon or sugar if I have it.” Eliza licks her lips and her stomach growls just thinking about it.

12. What is your spirit animal?

“Not sure what that is, but I do like horses. And the little rabbits that run by when I tend to the garden.”
