Just a reminder it’s Lesbian Visibility Week aka their week…
Literally the greatest and sadest day in Doctor Who since 23 October 2022.
13th and 15th Doctors together was beautiful to see.
They were always meant to be in an episode together and now we finally have it and their interaction was perfect
And Thassies we won again... 13 thinking she should tell Yaz she loves her was not on my 2025 bingo card but it has made my year.
Happy freaking pride month!
You know what’s incredibly annoying about RTD lovers who are Chibnall haters?
The fact that they like to say that Chibs ran the show into the ground never acknowledging that Chibs ran the show with the least amount of funding and with the biggest BBC/Pandemic restrictions while RTD during his 2 tenures has gotten to run the show with the biggest amount of budget and no world wide pandemic that almost threatened to destroy the whole industry. Nor do they ever acknowledge the fact that the BBC/Disney talks started when Chibs was still in charge which means Disney clearly didn’t have any problems with how the show was going for the last 5 years otherwise they probably wouldn’t have been interested in injecting the amount of money they clearly have into it. What Chibs had to keep the show going vs what RTD has is night and day and would have been way harder for Chibs and yet he did it and we all still have Doctor Who.
Running a huge sci-fi enterprise is way easier when you have more money and you aren’t restricted and having to worry about staff getting sick and possibly dying. The pandemic was real. Budgets are real.
Was Neil Patrick Harris dragged like the the cast of 13s era for knowing nothing about the history of the show?
I’m just wondering because I was just reminded of this…
Doctor Who: Neil Patrick Harris Says Ncuti Gatwa Will Be 'The First Gay Doctor' (source at the bottom of the post)
He said this after the most recent episode of Doctor Who was Legend of the Sea Devils. Which I’m pretty sure made 13 ‘The First Gay Doctor’ but I guess she’s not a man so it doesn’t count? And by fandom logic doesn’t this make him horrible casting for not knowing not only the full backstory of doctor who but not even knowing what monumental thing had happened in the most recent episode at the time.
I don’t want anyone dragged, like don’t do that to people but it’s clear that the general fandom set different expectations on different people. Sometimes it feel like Jodie never had a chance.
Neil Patrick Harris has revealed that Ncuti Gatwa will play the first gay Time Lord in the new series of Doctor Who.
I have been on tumbler only a couple of weeks but since then I have learnt so much…
1. Doctor Who Twitter is a wild ride, especially for 13 fans and I don’t like wide rides.
2. That despite being on social media over a decade as a lurker, but never a poster a few weeks on tumblr and turns out I’m a ranter. Lol, not a good thing. Also not tumblrs fault I think it’s Twitter fault but I’m to verbose for Twitter to rant there. Lol.
3. That Thasmin shippers are some of the most kind and creative people in the universe. From the fan fic, fan art, memes, inappropriate doctor comments, gifs and so much more, you folks rock! So glad I finally found people who enjoyed 13, Yaz and the fam as much as I did, cos it felt like I was alone in the wilderness so long with my thoughts and feelings on 13s era.
Thanks to everyone who’s commented, reblogged and liked my TLDR posts. I didn’t think anyone would see them since I’m new here, but you saw them and read them anyway and I appreciate the time you took to do that from some random 13 era loving fan.
Long live 13!
I know a lot of people feel like Yaz’s departure either was a bit flat or out of character because she would never leave the Doctor and my feeling towards it for months has been that I’m unsure how I feel about it. I love the episode but Yaz leaving at the end after ice cream 50 metres from the TARDIS was a bit jarring.
There’s the ending I would have wanted. But I knew that wouldn’t happen. But there could have been an ending between what I would have wanted and what we got. I do think there could have been a bit more, Ryan and Graham at least got hugs and some physic papers. I know the Doc had regeneration energy which could be dangerous but they were holding each other and then sitting next to each other while the doc was lighting up so I don’t think there’s a good reason not to hug at a minimum. So that’s a bummer. (side note: did Yaz have no personal items on the TARDIS? Lol, she left without a bag)
But I don’t think it’s out of character that she did leave. It obviously wasn’t her active choice to leave, we all know she wouldn’t just leave the Doctor for anything but the active decision she made was to respect the Doctors wishes to do the next part alone. And I think her respect for the Doctor would trump her pushing to stay, she knew this was their end and her last decision was to give the Doctor what she wanted, not to fight her. And that’s so Yaz. She may often question the Doctor but ultimately she always listens and does as the Doctor asks even when it hurts because she trusts the Doc is doing the right thing.
