i listened to the hallamshire incident this morning and i’m kinda jiving with the thasmin retcon. it transforms dan’s sidebars in eve of the daleks from a third wheel cis dude asking his repressed lesbian friends to bare their feelings, and recontextualizes the conversation as yaz already knowing her feelings but playing along (initially) for her overbearing ally friend. yaz gains agency and dan is framed as somewhat misguided—perfffff👌🏻 also the line “i’ve never told anyone, not even myself” is kept intact because hallamshire’s confession scene sees yaz doing her best to deflect and be non-committal, though sonya is eventually able to cajole a carefully worded admission from her.

yaz’s coming out scene is now a heartfelt sister moment instead of the wok dude’s sympathy
