Athena doesn’t need anything to touch upon her heart’s emotions -- she has Widget for that -- but the idea of a snowman come to life is intriguing and tempting all the same in the same type of Christmas magic a child imagines in their head or watches unfold within a jolly holiday movie, and her inner child has been begging for a visit. Besides -- there’s an excuse to visit the Swirling Gulf, take in the look of the sunken city and the space where people have gathered, eagerly sculpting their own masterpieces.
It should be easy. Movies and winter merchandise presents snowmen with perfectly round torsos, lower bodies and heads, but that seems to be beyond Athena’s abilities; she starts frowning as her hands attempt to smooth out the bumps into a more circular shape, and her frustration grows even more palpable once she gets to arranging its face. She stands up -- takes a few steps back, and curls her lip in disappointment.
What a result. A crooked shape that doesn’t stand up straight with a face that looks more tragic than it does like a smile. She turns a contemplative glance towards someone that happens to be nearby, then back to the finished product.
“I don’t think I’m doing this right...”
