We're putting together an honest monologue performance about diversity for first year orientation. Don't worry, you don't need any theater experience!
Diversity includes socioeconomic status, race (all races!), ethnicity, age, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, mental health, ally experience, medical conditions, national identity, religion, life experience, and anything else that shapes you.
We want you to set the tone for entering Wellesley students by telling your stories--a tone where they can comfortably and respectfully question and learn about our diverse identities without worrying about asking the wrong questions.
Criteria for performers are the following:
There is NO previous performing experience necessary. We are more interested in the content of what you want to share. You will have the benefit of being trained by a professional, who will work extensively with the monologue group to prepare you and your piece for presentation.
STUDENTS of ALL BACKGROUNDS are welcome. Anyone who is interested in sharing experiences, positive OR negative, with the class of 2018.
