Maddie & Jake
Jacob had been coming to the San Diego zoo more regularly since Maddie worked there. He would either text her and ask when she was off or when she was going on break and surprise her with food or wait for her at the staff gate with his dog or to take her to dinner. It wasnt as frequently as he would like to see her and he respected her space. But since their trip to Sydney and their plans here and there to go out it was more regular to him then most things. But Jake had kept some distance while he worked through his emotions and now he felt ready. With a quick text to see if she was off soon Jake headed to the zoo. When she walked through the gate he bent down and gave her an imposibly long hug. He had thought about this moment and all the promises they had made before to get better about keeping in touch. He didnt apologize for his time away. Jake held her and leaned back a little to look her in the eyes as he smiled. “There wasnt a second I was gone that I wasnt thinking about you Monkey.” Reaching for her hands he leaned in and waited a moment before stealing a kiss. “Lets go get dinner.”
