Criminal Minds | Jennifer Jareau | 17x03 'Homesick'
NCIS Season 17
Beautiful Sloane in 17x03
okay. so i just watched 17x03 and i have a lot to say about baugate now that i'm watching these episodes firsthand
first of all, i am absolutely appalled and horrified for jj. i can't even imagine how she must feel and it must be so isolating to know the website is focused exclusively on her :( i'm just hoping that she's able to get support on this moving forward and not deal with this by herself, as well as get justice for what has happened to her. watching her expression as she looked at the website was heartbreaking.
second, i think luke did the right thing by telling her, and i completely understand why he wanted to give her the autonomy to make that decision for herself. i think he's a great friend for doing that and i understand why it wasn't sitting right with him that she didn't know
lastly, i also understand why emily was going to keep it to herself and ordered luke to do the same, even if i don't think it was the best course of action. do i think it was the best choice she could have possibly made, especially in terms of jj's wellbeing? probably not. jj had a right to know and i'm glad that she's able to make her own decisions about it even though it is so awful. that being said, do i also understand how difficult a position emily is in having the power she does? absolutely. also, SHE believed she was doing the right thing. before watching evolution, i have seen a lot of vitriol online about emily in it and i don't really understand it now that i'm watching it. getting to know emily throughout the original series, we know that at her core, she is incredibly selfless and empathetic. evolution is a darker show, and with her leadership position, it is extremely difficult to be put in situations such as these (ones she never wanted to be in), and she genuinely thought she was making a decision that would protect everyone, including jj. making a judgement call that ended up hurting someone does not make her evil, and i do not understand the treatment i see of her online. she loves and cares about jj, and i do not understand the narrative that she no longer does just because we don't see as much content of it anymore.
tl;dr i feel sick for jj because she is a victim in this situation who absolutely deserved to know what was happening to her, luke was being a good friend by telling her and following his moral compass, and i also think emily should be given some grace on her decision
Oh, I don't trust her smile.
