“I refuse to allow my fears to be decided by the fears that exist in this house.” Out on the wiley, windy moors of the East wing of Collinwood, Daphne Harridge follows the sound of a pi…
I describe episodes 1061-1198 as “Meet Gerard,” and try to think of ways that 1199-1245 could have been made more interesting.
“Sometimes I regret all these things we’ve had to do because of that room.” Yesterday, Dark Shadows as we know it came to a close, as eccentric millionaire Barnabas Collins and hi…
A couple of ways they might have improved the 1841 Parallel Time story if Jerry Lacy had still been on the show.
“I think the only thing wrong with the Collinses is a hundred and sixty years of accumulated fear!” Well, that spooky door is still at it, I suppose. I took a couple episodes off from w…
I notice a portrait of Thomas Jefferson on display in the Collinwood of 1841 Parallel Time. That starts me on a tangent about the overlap of the cast of Dark Shadows with that of 1776 which ends with me imagining what the 1841 PT segment might have been like with Ken Howard instead of Keith Prentice as Morgan Collins.
“Really, my good man, there is more to life than one monster’s power over another’s.” In today’s episode of ABC-TV’s Dark Shadows, the utterly haunted Collins fa…
One last time, I speak up in defense of Alexandra Moltke Isles’ acting.
“Do you know that I’m shortly going to be a martyr to our blessed family name?” Life was fun Life was great ‘Til I made my big mistake Oh no, it’ll never happen to me
I praise the acting in this episode, naming Christopher Pennock, Jonathan Frid, Kate Jackson, and (wait for it) Keith Prentice. I speculate about what may have been keeping Prentice from doing his best work in other episodes.
“So they’ve begun their madness again!” Round 1: Bramwell: So they’ve begun their madness again!
A remark about one of the episodes to which I suspect Violet Welles contributed dialogue. The writing is so good that even Catherine and Bramwell are interesting to watch.
“The spirits don’t care. They don’t care, they just want a sacrifice!” The portal is open; the dark work is complete. There is a haunted chamber in this mansion, made of hur…
I find something to praise even in Keith Prentice’s acting in my comment on this, the last good episode of Dark Shadows.
