The things that come to my mind when I hear the phrase domestic violence are abuse within a relationship and also violence in a collective area. I also think about how the the phrase’s meaning has dwindled down in the current generation to only being violence in a relationship and the ignorance that follows. I also think about how a neighborhood fight or a shooting in a neighborhood is also considered domestic violence since it is violence within a collective area but is only considered a physical disagreement or a shooting. one thing that I always think about is when I wanted charges to be pressed against someone who attacked me for no reason and when I said the attacker should be charged with domestic violence the cop and all off the kids in my middle school made fun of me and bullied me because they only thought domestic violence was only for violence between “lovers” and not they other meaning which fit the situation better than just a fight which caused me to be unjustly suspended for being in a “fight” when I did not even retaliate.
