Research 4 - Museum lighting design
Date:18th Feb,2020
The design and harmony of the lighting are significant for space, especially as a museum that needs to be shown to many people; it deserves proper consideration. This video shows how the lights at the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Temple evolved and produced from the 19th century to the 21st century. It can be seen in the video that for different works of art and works with different shades, the lighting that needs to be used needs to be carefully considered and tested. Appropriate lighting will enhance the overall visual effect, so this is why lighting is also a plus for the museum display. There is also a lot of knowledge and theories contained in it, which need to be researched and learned.
For me, since the theme of designing the court space revolves around historical events, the coordination and comfort of the entire space are worthy of repeated research. So after I have determined the content of the projection part, I will consider and plan the overall colour system and light. Besides, I thought that using a lampshade with reflective materials to spread the light is a brilliant way to let people have an immersive experience in a space.

I just got out of a 3 hour class with this teacher who was awful to me in bachelors and throughout the class she kept asking me stuff and thankfully i answered everything correctly. She made so much eye contact. Made me read some stuff and i hate reading out loud bc i get all panicky and these 3 hours were pure anxiety!!! So relieved it is over now. Every monday is going to be filled with anxiety 😵😖
