Guys I have so much appreciation for the 1917 script you don’t understand. It’s making me want to write on another level. Just. Let me be an award-winning movie writer. Let me be an award winning writer period. Even though at the moment I’m in a bit of a slump with my writing.

An Emetophobic’s Guide to Film: 1917 (2019)

1917 (2019) is not safe! There is one actual V* scene in this film, and a few instances that could potentially be triggering. Spoilers ahead!

The main scene happens after Schofield (George MacKay) is in the basement/bunker with the french girl and her baby. When he leaves, he has to run away from German soldiers and when he goes to hide behind a wall, we see a drunk German soldier stumble into the rubble. It is relatively easy to see coming, with audio and visual lasting about 10 seconds. If you keep your eyes/ears shut for longer, you won’t miss anything super important, so don’t worry! 

As for the small instances:

Towards the beginning of the movie, when Schofield and Blake are in the German trenches and the rat triggers a trip wire, rocks fall onto Schofield and he is buried underneath them. When Blake pulls him out, he is coughing/gasping/g*gging for about a minute afterwards.

There is also a scene towards the end where Schofield jumps into a river to escape German soldiers. As he is drowning, he does gasp for air and cough up some water. Again, if you do find this triggering and close your eyes/ears, you won’t miss anything important!
