Two months after his eighteenth birthday, Forsythe Pendleton Jones, III was drafted to go to war. It didn't matter that he was the only son. It didn't matter that he was the only one to continue the Jones name. Ever able bodied man was drafted to fight a war no one believed in.

Jughead has been drafted to go into the Army to fight in the Vietnam War. Right before he leaves, he meets Betty Cooper.
