It was truly an honour and a delightful experience to host Mr. Aravinda De Silva, the distinguished inductee of the ICC Hall of Fame, at the IISM campus today.
Mr. De Silva played a key role in Sri Lanka's victory in the Cricket World Cup of 1996. In the final match against Australia, he won the 'Man of the Match' award for his undefeated century and three wickets.
He is the renowned Sri Lankan batter known for his remarkable consistency and has achieved a milestone in his 18-year international career by scoring 20 Test centuries, the third-highest by any Sri Lanka men’s player.
His contributions to the game go beyond mere statistics, as he played a pivotal role in shaping the narrative of Sri Lankan cricket on the global stage.
On this momentous occasion, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. De Silva for this well-deserved and significant honour. 🏏🎉
